I was just there on vacation and I can see what you mean. Coloradians give off the attitude that they are friendly Mid Westerners, but after awhile you can tell they just have that "Californian smugness" about themselves.

It's Natural Parks and scenery is really the only thing saving it. I will say though that the Colordo Mountain folk were friendly as can be.
