Is Hong Kong a proof that libertarianism/pure free market economics does not work irl?
>Hong Kong’s struggle to help its citizens improve their lives may represent the greatest challenge to its unique economic model. The city has been lionized for decades by some economists as the closest thing to a free economy, with few regulations of any kind, and no retail sales or capital gains taxes. More than half of Hong Kong’s working population, including Lau, live below the level at which they must pay income tax -- and for the minority who do, the standard rate is a low 15 percent.
>For the middle class, developers have been building an increasing number of micro-apartments, the smallest just 128 square feet, with price tags of more than $400,000.
>The assets of the 10 wealthiest people now equal 47 percent of Hong Kong’s economy, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Sheeeit, imagine how many would die if one of these anthill buildings caught on fire.

So basically, due to the free market's effectiveness at creating wealth, and no obligation to pay taxes, the demand of people wanting to live there, is so great that causes an increase in the price of the land to astronomical proportions? People prefer to live there in micro apartments than going to a more regulated place without the possibility of creating wealth, or having a job? Damn, capitaism BTFO! How will it ever recover?

Libertarians need to be gassed or tortured to death.
No mercy for the pushers of this toxic garbage.

>the demand of people wanting to live there how big is immigration to hong kong?

How is it proof that it doesn't work? It's a super rich country, so much that people are willing to pay out the ass to live in it. Also it's small, so if libertarian economics were implemented in more sparsely populated country, you wouldn't have such overpriced housing (especially in the country side) if that's what gets your noggin joggin.

So basically their problem is massive renting from an oligarchy which establishes itself and perpetuates itself based on land owning? And that`s 500 years after the "Enlightenment". Who would guess the medieval lords wouldn't give up so easily.

Sounds like too much population is the issue, not capitalism.

You're basing your life on a fight you will never win. You setting yourself up for a long, painful failure.
