I would agree, though I'm not as familiar with Jackel. I find the smug sophistry typical of people whose positions are firm and popular very unappealing. I also can see why it's hard to avoid bringing who Irving is into the debate, since a lot of the problems with his claims are tied to his own behaviour and personality. You say his work's shortcomings are immediately transparent, but couldn't that just be the most egregious examples? Perhaps there is much more that one reads unsuspectingly, with deep rooted problems. Stuff like saying an American court ruled that Anne Frank's diary was a forgery, or saying that Hans Spiedel framed Rommel in the July 20 plot are just the most obvious examples of ideological blinders leading him to make ludicrous suggestions or disregard factual evidence.
It's not like Irving himself isn't guilty of sophistry and sensationalism, to perhaps a greater extent than any his critics.

You get through him pretty quick, the most interesting parts are the handful of documents he gets access to in various national archives, and the interviews he does since he's fluent in German. You exhaust him as a source pretty quick. I prefer the work of people like Germar Rudolf, since it cuts past the whole interpretive dance historians rely on to bullshit various perspectives. I'd rather someone trained in the hard sciences write the engineering books on matters of purported mass murder, than "trained historians" who amount to shoddy "interpretive" methods like the rest of the liberal arts.

Because typically, 'right-wing' movements do not exist. The concept of the 'right-wing' is an inherent misnomer, because it is actually the capitalist elite, globalists, etc, who are proponents of what could generally be summarised as a 'right-wing' of politics. Bush's regime is a good example of this -- it sought a global hegemony by enacting 'preventative war' (not pre-emptive, which implies a basis for a war founded on defense) and securing itself as a 'peace-keeper', while it was actually an aggressor and sought to dominate the globe with finance and its military-industrial complex.
Even Mussolini and Hitler did not associate with the 'right' -- both respective ideologies were built on surpassing the left and the right both.
It was only in later, post-war years, that militant white supremacists, etc, were branded as being 'right-wing' -- traditionally, the concept of being 'right' was related to monarchy, traditionalism, etc, but it has been totally obfuscated and reformed.
