The SAA has been under siege there since the start of the revolution in 2011 and capturing it before the Kurds do secures all of western Syria and its oil fields.

It is the only government foothold in the eastern Syria and while they control the city they maintain the clay on DeZ oil sites (which they dont control yet)

I think it's an artillery base, so they can fuck with ISIS basically from within

Just wondering what do you use axe for while in Damascus, Syria. (Apart from hacking burlars) I mean i also have axe and even a chainsaw in my country house but we dont have shortage of things to saw here.
Jacob Scott
They'll do the job, assuming the attacker isn't armed with a gun. How are the hand to hand combat skills though?
Dominic Moore
oh fuck i didn't notice the flag on the road KOTEL NOW
Is the average Syrian not allowed to own firearms? I'd also go for a bat for tge reach
Logan Edwards
>Can these be used successfully defending my home from a burglar/attacker ? Sure, if they don't have firearms. Burglars by themselves are somewhat likely to just vacate your premises if you show opposition, especially if you come at them with an axe. Attackers, specifically after you though, are another thing. Probably looking at armed assailants there, so you'll be in for a fight. A knife might be more reliable indoors, in reality. An axe needs space to swing and someone bumrushing you with a knife doesn't give you much space. See picture for a good illustration.
John Diaz
It's a big river.

I assume that most criminals will have some rooty tooty point and shooty so better get some real weapon if you really want to defend yourself. Shouldn't be that hard in the middle of a civil war to get some gun.

Never used them, a relative brought them when he returned from the soviet union, now we keep them just in case. I was never really tested before. I lift though. Previously you needed a license but I think many people own unregistered arms.

why dont you just buy an ak ffrom your ocal militia?
Colton Perez
I just woke up, what is going on why is SAA so based?!
Levi Sullivan
Middle. Nothing can stop them.
Luke Nguyen
Upper one could be harder fight against ISIS but they'd be undeniably helping to SDF in Raqqa so it would serve to deescalate the conflict and get maximum territory.
Camden Watson
The middle path is actually a road directly connecting Rusafah and Deir-ez-Zor, btw.
Kevin Murphy
Top one. Middle one is retarded and lower can be done by the troops who are currently connecting from Khanaser a bit later. The Palmyra troops will reach Suknah first anyway
Alexander Flores
Upper if only to cut off the Kurdshits.

The SAA now has 4 ways of reaching DeZ : - along the Euphrates - through the desert from Rusafah - through the desert from Palmyra - along the Euphrates from the border Which one of these sounds the most promising ?
Its not that urgent though, they have been there years. Gotta keep the yanks from taking the southern side of the Euphrates and linking up with Palmyra would help supply lines
Landon Robinson
I really love axes, the one on the right is almost like an atgeir had it had a bit more "spear" on the end there. Throwing axes are fun as hell and damn effective btw, you get specialized ones for that but it works well with others to part that to the left there I would bet is good. It's a sport here, a minor sport, I can lit stick an axe in a man's skull with ease from 20-30m, even though I haven't been throwing in years.
Cameron Barnes

Correct, although it has a lot of ISIS controlled towns that will slow SAA down.
The double Sukhnah and Euphrates advance seems the most sensible, though.
Carson Morris
>Assadist can still act smug and crafty ? Yep still winning

Amerifats sperg out but still lose the town anyway. Last helicopter out of Hasaka when?
Jaxon Mitchell
DeZ is fine, cutting off Kurds is more important.
Territory ISIS takes can be taken back with five guys and a pickup truck but territory the SDF takes is permanent and gets fortified with US bases that fire on you for getting too close. Which one is honestly a more strategic enemy?
Austin Walker
me on the left

SO is this confirmed for SAA or what?

dez will be reached from all sides at the same time, kurds included, it's looking like it'll ISIS's last hurrah in the levant
Elijah Fisher
I tend to agree. Prioritizing control of the Euphrates southern banks seems key. Although if the Kurds become too greedy, it would be easy for Assad to unleash the Turks on them to distract them and retake some land.
Benjamin Price
Yes.
Luis Bell
As it seems unlikely that Assad can be gotten rid off, it's plan B now and someone wants Syria at least cut off from Iraqi border. Assisting ISIS in taking DeZ and then capturing it with puppet SDF force is key to that goal
Blake Cruz
No strong confirmation yet, some say it is.
Benjamin Williams
I agree that's likely, will the Turks give it back though?
Nicholas Sanders
And what will he unleash on the turks? Inviting a bigger invader to get rid of the smaller one you already can't handle never worked.
Chase Diaz

This. The Byzantines tried that and they kept losing territory to unwashed barbarians.
Ian Harris
he's not me you stupid idiot could be jewish jew VPNfagging again
Connor Ward
Well, territory currently held by the Kurds is lost to Syria anyway, unless some huge changes happen. Therefore, it sounds reasonable to allow Turkey to attack them, because even if Turkey keeps some of that clay, the SAA will use the distraction to push back the Kurds in the South as they get rekt by the Turks in the North and West. Better to lose some parts of nothern Syria to Turkey than to lose the entire area north of the Euphrates (or maybe the Euphrates itself) to a US-backed Kurdistan.
Levi Murphy
