One of Germany’s most senior defence officials has become the latest to add his voice to calls for a European army.
Hans-Peter Bartels, Germany’s national defence commissioner, on Monday called for Nato’s EU members to organise their militaries into a single force.
“In the end, there will be a European army,” he said.

The Wehrmacht had foreign volunteers, an EU army is comparable to the cluster fuck that the K.u.K. Armee was.
The topic has been brought up sporadically for quite a while, the discussion quickly died because no one had a real interest in it.
But it's been 4 or 5 months we keep getting news about the EU discussion on the subject. So what would the EU army look like? I don't really know, it's always hypothetical sentences, they never come up with something concrete like "3th cavalry division of France, 15th infantry division of Germany...etc. under the same banner".
The only thing they always repeat is "the EU's army would intervene where NATO won't" (like Ukraine or Syria to reinforce the CJTF for example).
Finally, the EU is acting to protect itself from the rise of Nationalism in countries that want to save their citizens and culture from drowning in Islamic migrants and paying insane fees to a centralized (((government))).

Why that? It would keep existing structures very much intact, to a point where the average soldier doesn't even notice much change. So why should this lead to low morale? It would also kill the fake and retarded argument an EU army would make a country defenseless in case it wants to leave.
