Bible is the word of God

>bible is the word of God
>oldest bible Codex Sinaiticus is written almost 400 years after Jesus
Do Christians realize that their religion is just like neopagans where they base their faith on something written hundreds of years later after when they should have been written, there isn't even a single mention of Jesus anywhere when he was still alive, Christianity is most likely a tool of control created by Romans who just put together some pagan stories mixed with monotheism

Or maybe it isn't.

Not an argument

>when he was still alive
He still is.

>OP can't even into religion
Get out!

If it was created by romans , it wouldn't be persecuted for 300 years.
Anyway:
>Christianity is fabricated from roman paganism and cult of Mithra
>Christianity is jewish

>Bible is word of God
Confusing us with Islam I see.

Religious argument in a nutshell

Here, watch these youtube videos about the reliability of the new testament.

Why didn't Christians preserver the ORIGINAL writings of Paul for example, i mean wouldn't the first writings be most important and not copies?

Because Paul never even fucking met the apostles or Jesus and went around attributing all sorts of mythical traits to Jesus to get people to convert.

Gospels were written much earlier than that. So while the oldest complete bible is newer, the most important books were written closer to Christs time.

...

>tfw every religion you can think of was started with a schitzophrenic episode

>christianity, saul the jew seeing Jesus on the road
>sikhi, guru nanak and the visit to heaven
>islam, mohammed, too many to name here
>judaism, moses and the bush, mass hallucination at the foot of Mount Sinai
>buddhism, buddha, old man needing help, etc.
>Hinduism, just one big acid trip
>shinto, origin story

>preserve original writings

There are none. They're all copies. If you want a fun course, take the EdX Harvard course on Early Christianity.

And even if there were, no one could read them. See Judiasim, Islam, and Sikhi, who place huge emphasis on reading texts in the original language.

Oldest found is Papyrus P52 in 125–175 AD (if Jesus died about the age of 30 then that's almost 100 years later) (Recent research points to a date nearer to 200 AD)

Nobody cares when they brought all the manuscripts together very much. The question is when they were written.

All the works that eventually became incorporated into the New Testament are believed to have been written no later than around 150 AD,[2][better source needed] and a small minority of scholars would date them to no later than 70 AD.[3][better source needed] John A. T. Robinson, Dan Wallace, and William F. Albright dated all the books of the New Testament before 70 AD.[4] Others give a final date of 80 AD,[5] or at 96 AD.[6]

>Paul never met the apostles
Confirmed for having never read Acts

Go jerk yourself off more you idiot fedora. If you had ever read the Bible you would know how ridiculous your theory is. There are multiple sources and claims inconsistent with delusion. The only theory that makes sense is that they were all lying, which begs the question of why they lied.

But how do we know what Jesus himself said? What if he never even preached to Gentiles, but only for Jews?

>But how do we know what Jesus himself said?
The surviving manuscripts are very similar to each other, and contain no important differences, making the original text extremely clear.

>tfw every religion you can think of was started with a schitzophrenic episode
Every religion you can think of was started with a Ancient Aliens episode, as some Ancient Astronaut Theorist believe

Okay, but why don't we have the original New Testament, don't you think the Early Christians would have preserved it?

He probably never existed. Christianity likely started off as a jewish attempt at a Hermetic mystery cult, like those that the Romans loved.

Then some kike called Paul decided to preach to Gentiles and then we all know what happens next.

Came to say this lol. Nice job OP really well thought out idea.

>Christianity is most likely a tool of control created by Romans who just put together some pagan stories mixed with monotheism
All religions are tools of lording over the masses of dumb cattle known as the commoners. Religion embed the masses with behaviours that are easy to control and manipulate for the needs of the rulers. However, its usefulness for the elite is decaying. They have better means of achieving the same ends now.

>Jesus didn't leave us a Bible, He left us a Church built on the rock of Simon Peter
>nowhere in the Bible does it say 'Bible alone'
>Martin Luther was wrong
>Catholicism is the true faith
>Deus Vult

>the original
What did he mean by this

>but why don't we have the original New Testament
Probably a hebrew involved somehow

What for? Writings were expensive and the books and letters were supposed to be disseminated, so there is no reason to keep one exemplar of each in a jar in a cave so that people 2000 years in the future won't have to argue on an imageboard.
The important thing is the content and the content is preserved.

Not one manuscript, but multiple manuscripts, and they were all lost through whatever ways. Since copies were much more numerous, copies survived

>Christianity is most likely a tool of control created by Romans who just put together some pagan stories mixed with monotheism

Christianity was a retaliation against Roman oppression.

"Well, then," Jesus said, "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God." Mark 12:17

Difference between Islam and Christianity was HUGE. One was banned and people were killed for owning Biblical materials, the other was based on a dude who conquered and spread it to all Arabs. Pages were preserved and distributed and by divine intervention enough of The Good News was delivered look up Council of Nicaea vs. Gnostic Gospels.

Qoron was kept in tact forever and 800 years later so far better writing tools back then. Definitely lots of people who choose Islam because of that point alone.

Honestly it's probably a mix of these

...

then what's the point of religion if you're not doing what God says ?

>religion founded by a conqueror
>or religion founded by commie kike
Hmmm hard choices

>multiple sources
>in a copy of a copy of a copy of a translation of bullshit

I'd review your "multiple sources" if you'd be so kind as to provide a link. And, no, using the Bible as a source for the Bible doesn't work.

Can't tell if you're Leafing me or not.

Mormonism started with a flat-out lie, not a hallucination, and I don't really count the various sects of Christianity although the Evangelicals have made a subcult out of hallucinations.

>Christianity is roman paganism
>Christianity is jewish
You larpers truly are a joke

>jews HATE Him

>4And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

>11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Have fun being devoured by birds cathocuck

>Mormonism started with a flat-out lie
Yeah, that southpark episode summed it up pretty good

refrein blasphemy and it's right just look at the shroud of Turin , does this look like a semite ?

Do you want to know what really happened? I'll tell you what really happened...

>Around Jesus' time the Jews were getting all uppity again and starting to get all restless and revolt because "muh Caesar" and "muh persecution" and "muh we're not in charge wahhhhh."
>Everyone could see they were starting to get uppity and the Romans were starting to get a bit pissed off
>So now Jesus, who was a part of the Nazarene sect of Essenes (who, btw, are a group that are "technically" Jews because a lot of Jews joined their group but they're so far off the Jewish reservation they can barely be called Jews if you actually read about what they believed and their behavior), starts preaching to the Jews like, "Ayy yo hol' up, We doin' this again, homies? We're just gonna cause all this bullshit trouble again and get kicked out again like every place we've ever lived ever in the history of time? Yo, dawgs, look in the mirror. I ain't saying the Roman elites are great but it's not like your shit don't stink, too. Like, you Jews are just as corrupt as any of them so quit talkin' shit, dawg. Chill out, homey. We got a decent thing going here. Relax, bruh."
>And then of course the Jews are like, "Fuck you, dude, don't tell us what to do. You're not my dad. lol. You don't even know who your Dad is, bitch."
>Then the corrupt elite Jews kill him.
>About 40 or so years later, the Jews finally get themselves all riled up and uppity enough to think they can take on the Roman Empire (lol, amirite?).
>They get BTFO.
>BTFO hard
>So they go back to their drawing board and they're like, "well shit...", and someone goes, "hey remember that dude Jesus...like...I'm not sayin' anything one way or another but...I am sayin' he kinda sorta maybe had some good ideas..."
>The intelligent Jews start reexamining Jesus' teachings and start actually thinking to themselves, "hey man, maybe we are kinda assholes and always getting kicked out of places and shit...I'm kinda tired of that..."

>oldest bible Codex
Every scholar recognizes that the earliest manuscripts were written between 1st and 2nd century CE. /trashthread

>1st Century
Source?

>so then these actually intelligent Jews who are kinda sorta tired of all this Jewish bullshit and just want to live their lives and shit rather than "muh chosen people" and all that garbage start to write down what they remember of Jesus' ideas and start to really talk about it and form little groups and shit
>eventually these little groups start to form a coherent and original philosophy based around Jesus' original teachings
>there are different sects and ideas, of course, but this whole new religion is starting to take shape
>even the elite Jews can't ignore it anymore and again, the relatively intelligent elite Jews, still bloodthirsty and corrupt as all hell, decide they need to gain control of this religion that they realize is vastly, vastly superior to their own Judaism
>enter the Catholics (hint: they're really just Jews taking control of Christianity)
>I give the Catholics a hard time, but they finally call everybody together and they're like, "okay bros, this Christianity thing is pretty cool, let's figure out exactly what we believe so we can all be cool"
>Everyone is like, "great"
>so they start forming up and reshaping all these books and stories that the different sects have developed over the years
>they have a lot of disagreements, of course, and some are even like, "fuck you dudes, I'm not joining this bullshit everyone was fine i'm not gonna pay you douchebags to like be the administrators or some bullshit" and they're out
>now the Catholics being the Jews that they are deep down can't fuckin' stand this so it's time for some good ol' fashioned killing anything they don't like

>Christianity is pagan
>no its actually a kike cult!
>Mediterraneans are white
>no actually the romans and ancient greeks were white but now they are totally different.

it amazes me the mental gymnastics stormcucks go through to appropriate the accomplishments of other people.

>Protestantism btfo

Canadian
>Quebec

>write book on roman history
>hours of countless research
>some dimwit on Sup Forums doesn't believe any of it because it was written 2000 years later

Is the Bible not the word of God? Serious question

>false kikegod worshipers
>actually cult of mithra
>actually cult of kibala
>actually cult of oziris
>no actually it's original but romans wrote today version of bible and established Catholic church
>no, based Roman killed your god and thousands of Christians

when will athecucks learn?

FPBP!

The amount of folklore and flat-out ignorance in this thread is astounding. Is it some blackpilled anti-academic "I only trust what I read on obscure websites" ethos? Get a grip friends. Everyone who knows anything about the subject can tell you have no idea what you are saying.
This has always been the problem with this topic. It is a loaded handgun with no safety sitting in a play-pin full of toddlers, as usual. Results are predictable.

no
it's a collection of stories, many of which involve God and papa Jesus

it's mostly metaphors and stuff like that, unlike the Koran which is the infallible word of Allah

The earliest manuscripts date as early as the 2nd century, and those come from even earlier sources during a time in which the eyewitnesses to the events were alive

We have documents from the Old Testament that date as early as 250 B.C. (Dead Sea Scrolls)

The Bible is actually the most accurate and "close-to-events" collection of documents in the history of mankind, strange that some people still doubt their authenticity or historicity.. *ahem* bias *ahem*

The pagan influences came during the Roman era, hence why we go to Church on sunday and so forth, this has nothing to do with the Bible but with traditions we inherited from that time when Christianity became mainstream and was affected by Pagan leaders. Don't mix peoples traditions with the Bible itself, Jesus clearly spoke against this.
