There's no evidence that there was a fight, as they simply state he had bruises, which can simply be from falling over.
He ended up dead in short order and apparently couldn't identify the killers.
Police still think it's a robbery attempt too and have zero leads.

2 there are a few hours where he is unaccounted for after leaving the bar. he could have been abducted and beaten to give a confession or the hitman could have done it on purpose to seem more like a robbery or he could have just beat him up anyways for some other reason. the abduction sounds most likely since they would probably want info on the leaks from him.
3 shot twice and left alive possibilities are shooter wanted to get the fuck out of there and didnt have time or thought he was already dead or knew he would bleed out anyways and also knew that there were operatives waiting to finish the job at the hospital. also to make it look like some random shooting he could have not finished him off on purpose knowing they would shoah him at the hospital anyways

these aren't some random bums going off some blurb in a newspaper, yeah they didn't have access to all the information or crime scene data, as no one else does either.
but its pretty clear things just don't add up. its enough to suggest it wasn't a random act once you put all the pieces together. Seth's homicide has had more eyes on it than most, the general consensus among non-plebbit le_donahld retards who want to push conspiracy theories is that things look extremely fishy. doesn't mean much, but it does mean other people have taken notice, which undoubtedly will put a little more pressure on these clowns at the DC police dept. to do something, like release more info.
