No solid narrative structure, and he leaps to conclusions about things just to fit the vision he's trying to portray, but interesting none the less. I would give it a 6.5 out of ten, definitely not Curtis' best work by a long shot but watchable enough to kill a few hours if you're bored as hell, the stuff about Russia was the best part.

it showed me how based was gaddafi and the hipocrisy of western politicians

Great doco that everyone should watch

The Century of the self was his best work.
Truly a holographic red pill.

Posh British twat to validate the lazy opinions being passed with authority. Similar to Kurzgesagt, same vaguely left wing trash.

This for sure, power of nightmares was good too

My thoughts exactly tbqh

I really loved the "All Watched By Machines of Loving Grace", really exposed the Jews and pretensious Environmentalism. That scene of a truck plowing into the crowd in Indonesia set to Buiral - "Forgive" was fucking gold.

>left wing trash
Point at Kissinger's kike nose in USA foreign policy destabilizing middle east

should I watch this?
could you "sell it" to me if youre so kind?

Sweet, delicious doom porn. For those times when you're out of rationalisations for committing suicide.

No thanks. I choose life.

Curtis won me over with Century of the Self. The best documentary series I've ever watched.

Adam Curtis makes comfy films. Hypernormalisation is hard to follow because he's fallen victim to a filter bubble. Consider the tale of Ghadaffi as told, it's limited, it leaves out the deep integration of the US state dept under Hildawg, the ABSOLUTELY BASED EVE GOD killed in benghazi, and the whole reason that shit was even a scandal. [there's an MGS5 mission written around it] It's as though he's blind to the unpleasant, or unable to show the forbidden narrative, thus having to engage in a program of hypernormalization in order to retain his ordinary position of lending context to seemingly unconnected events, and as such doing so in a less prescient way...Consider it from that perspective, as though Adam himself is unable to peer into the deeper realms of _WHY_ these narratives are connected, but take a swing at figuring it out from a more politically incorrect perspective. You have to interact with it to have fun with it, because libs r low energy.

its good, its about the 'digital revolution' that never materialized, instead of leading us into some glorious star trek utopia it enslaved us.

although i disagree with many points Curtis presents throughout his documentaries, particularly his premises and conclusions, as i find them to be a little too generalized and nuanced, his stuff his interesting and compelling with a lot of archival footage that is put together really well.

you always learn something from a different perspective, even if its a bit thin intellectually.

RIP VILE RAT

The fact that his work is produced and broadcast by one of the largest media organisations in the world should tell you everything you need to know

In creating computers as we currently experience them, a crucial decision was made very early on, to abandon the mainframe, to put more of the computer in the user's hands. However in order to implement the kinds of control systems necessary to provide a new information utopia it became necessary to wrestle and wheedle control back from the user, or rather, to channel the user's newfound power into wealth and political power.
