Civilization is not natural

Can we agree that civilization is not humanity's natural state and to blame for the problems of the last five thousand years?

>five thousand years?
Double that but you're right.

are the libraries not closed in the us?

Stop breaking into libraries user and get some kind of job or support system they are out there for you.

>See burgerflag
America isnt even civilized in the first place

If you mean how current civilization is evolving then yes, it's sort of turning into a self-destructing mechanism where survival and procreation have become secondary to wealth and social status..
But if your talking about society in general then no, it's part of our nature to assemble into groups and form hierarchies, we did so from the dawn of times.

Fuck off you anarchist shill. You wouldn't even be here right now were it not for civilization

Fucking naturalist fallacies
HURR DURR WE WERE MEANT TO JUST REMAIN JUNGLE MONKEYS

As population increased the old means of survival were insufficient therefore using intelligence man had to come up with ways of increasing security & food production. Thus the village, then town, then city and so on was born.

it happened before, civilizations rise, they fall
you just need to adapt to the next change

Post got cut off.

TL;DR Aristotle successfully argued in Politics that civilization is a natural extension of human nature.

Early humans huddling in a cave was a primitive form of civilization. They did so for safety, increased chance of survival etc. Cave > camp > village > town > city > metropolis are all natural extensions of basic human nature.

They all serve the fundamental drives of human beings to thrive, survive, to seek safety and to accumulate resources/offspring.

Anarcho-Primitivism thread? Fuck yeah

"Civilization" is fine, there are imperialistic murderous troops of jungle chimps that make American imperialism look tame.

Civilization is not perfect, but at least we don't risk to starve.

Maybe not for niggers. Even spics had cities back in the day.

it's comfy though

No, we can't agree on that.

Civilization is perfectly natural for humans. We are hierarchical herd animals. Civilization is just what we do when enough people are within transmission range of each other.

Yeah you're right. Civilization is unnatural.

The word civilization comes from the Latin cives: city. To have a city you need a degree of technological progress, agriculture. This is a recent thing, 10,000-15,000 years. But human have existed for 190,000 years.

More like 500 years. History is full of lies and fake ruins.

i think that's a movie set

those ruins were relocated

I would say the problems now more lie with modernity

I wouldn't abolish civilisation but it needs some huge changes in ecology, work, medicine and politics

It's not really practical for billions of people to live off of the limited natural resources we were given. At some point there has to be alternatives.
