I noticed that America still retains its Anglo-Saxon character in many respects. We may not realize it, but we interact British culture quite often in our ordinary, everyday lives in America. This includes, for instance, art and historical themes. The following examples may sound beyond silly to you, but I believe they aptly demonstrate our Anglo-Saxon roots. For one, our cartoons. When I was growing up, many popular children shows contained strong themes unique to British history. Let us look at the Wild Thornberrys. This show is representative of British colonialism - not just a generic form of colonialism - in which White, Anglo people explore the unknown continent of Africa, examining strange animals and searching for adventure. You know: Ceil Rhodes for instance.

There is something uniquely British about exploration - especially exploration of Africa. I romanticize about it quite often, actually. And I do believe that the British left Africa a better place than the condition in which they found it.
Another example you may find funny, but Sponge Bob. The music of Sponge Bob - its usage of accordion and flutes - is almost entirely British, and it may be said that its main inspiration is the Sailor's Hornpipe. Our understanding of piracy "Ahoy Matey!" - which one can find in Zelda Wind Waker - is uniquely British. And perhaps even in Donkey Kong 64, one can find examples of British influence.
