Cnn.video

I noticed cnn.video domain is not registered. I don't have $125 to burn but thought someone could do something with this. Like write a script to mirror content from cnn.com/videos, insert something naughty, email advertiser with link to their ad next to something naughty, get advertiser to pull their ads from CNN.

Or maybe someone has a better idea for it.

Available here:

name.com/domain/search/cnn.video

You could just buy it and alert CNN of it's existance. They'll buy it from you for maybe $50k. It would be worth it to just buy it

I'll write the code if someone pays for the domain and hosting.

Just checked on godaddy, cnn.video is available. Premium domain though, $149.99/annum

That's a buyout price, someone let it expire.

Its his own domain he cant do whatever he wants with it (ofc not posting illegal stuff)

copyrights

There are laws about what they call "cybersquatting".
I think that if you can't prove in good faith you need the domain name for something completely unrelated, your domain name can get seized.

They threatened to dox a reddit person for making an anti CNN meme

you ever heard of libel by any chance?

CNN may be able to get it removed via Tradesmark. Not a lwayer so not for sure.

"cnn.video is not available."

Looks like someone bought it.

fuck your laws are backwards

In the United States, the 1st amendment protects the right of an individual to speak freely. This isn't a cybersquatting issue because the purpose is free speech, not an attempt to extort CNN or confuse the public.
