Honestly it is shit. It's well done but at the end of the day it's self-serving, which is why it is shitty. All of the grandest works of art in the world were homages to and attempts at mimicking the grand and awe-inspiring magnificence of God, and therefore become awe-inspiring to mortal men specifically for that reason. If you make something to appease your fellow man it will not have such grand potential as if you make something to appease your God which will thus compel it to be so much more magnificent and glorifying on the strength of attempting to create something that will please someone greater than any man.

If you can't understand it in these terms, change man to plebeian and God to king and pretend you were living in the monarchy. If you want to impress your neighbor you won't have to work as hard as to impress your king. But something so powerful as to impress the king should more than impress all of your fellow men.
