Although single mothers are a threat to society the damage can be supplemented with large families who are close where grandfathers / uncles can contribute as father figures. Single mothers in the ghettos are usually kept at a distance with their families where they can't afford to be helped so they're left to fend for themselves. Before i go on i'd say your example is a bit exaggerated. Most women don't go for drug dealers unless they're in the hood or if their parents are neglecting her.

Women are attracted to men are confident and can protect them, its in their nature.
