The SCV in my area don't seem to be super active and what activities they do get involved with seems to be just stuff I do already in my local historical society. Sons of Union Veterans don't even have a chapter unless I go to Memphis or Nashville. Props to both groups though. Both speak up to preserve our heritage.

Plenty of southerners have an irrational or exaggerated dislike of the rest of America but personally I have friends all across the US and in other countries and I think every region of the world. I simply want for the states of Dixie to run the way it sees fit and to preserve it's own history and I wish the same for California or New York or anywhere else.

Well living in the Czech Republic allows you to pretty much never meet Dixie so fortunate for you. I think the Czech Republic is a nice place myself.

I've mostly been around the south but I did visit California, Nevada, and Arizona long ago plus a bit of Illinois. I enjoyed it all and met lots of great people. Just because we were all once enemies doesn't mean we need to be now.

Because the meaning of the battle flag has evolved since the war. The huge majority of Dixie sees it as a symbol of southern unity and southern heritage. It's to us what the New England flag is to New England. It no longer simply just stands for what it did during the Civil War. In TN it's very common to see the American flag and Confederate flag fly together as a symbol of being American and southerner.

The South would be a nice place to live. Warm all year weather and lots of leaf cover during winter. Except for niggers. I wish slavery never happened and nigs never imported.
