In my opinion, since Japan has been trying to get past their WW2 disarmament, and they have grandiose ideas of conquering China, I can see Japan forcing the US's hand into war with North Korea, then stabbing the Chinese in the back, forcing a Russo-Chinese American War, fought throughout the eastern world, with Iran pushing their forces with Turkey against the EU.
