Since 2000 California has lost almost 2 million people to internal emigration. Contrary to popular belief, it isn't just poorfags either, it's all across the spectrum and proportionally speaking, the upper middle class has left the most.

They have the equivalent of an oil economy. It's just based on weather and having a coast. They also have a lot of media hype with hollywood and TV shows.
Aside from that the State is in extreme decline. Failing infrastructure, government doesn't work at all in the state, and many other problems like rapidly falling IQ and test scores as evidenced by education scores, graduation rates, etc.
California is the worst state in the country statistically. It's sort of like being a billionaire in mexico, they can still think Mexico is great.
In terms of reality though Cali is a shithole with high taxes and worse living standards than any other state in USA.
