Why British architecture is so hideous?

Seriously, it just hit me when traveling through Street View. Most of British buildings wouldn't be considered finished in Poland. I feel like even most blocks in Poland look better: imgur.com/a/qzKk9 and that is a damn achievement. No wonder we are going there fixing this shit. What the hell happened Britain?

What's wrong with it?

The color palette is extremely dull, and every building looks almost the same.

Maybe if your lot did a better job building the cunts they'd be better

British architecture is pretty cute desu. Commie blocks suck mr polack so don't be too quick to judge.

looks comfy to me. if houses were like that in america they'd be pretty cheap

This is for example average polish village, not poor but also not rich.

This looks very comfy as well.

Quintessentially British housing

depends on when the houses were built, the older ones are higher quality and look nicer usually. the ones in the pic look new but i could be wrong

I love the fences and privacy as well as the houses, looks very cosy.

State housing project, they're not very creative. They pick a design they can make the most money out of and built a few blocks with them. Not everything looks like this - here's the street i lived in when i was still in the uk

google.de/maps/@50.7375205,-1.8938654,3a,75y,311.86h,79.19t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s5Icp3Xy5TaMGDljyV-Vhhg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=de

That's what normal residential areas look like.

I dont think this is legit. No trash everywhere.

Looks like parts of New Jersey and Philadelphia really. If it's all white than it's probably cozy as fuck

haha, this is actually partly true, chav neighbourhoods are usually filled with rubbish and shite.

>not living in a village
haha you city fags will always be inferior

Pretty comfy while remaining British charme. I like how they cut their bushes to let manlets pass through.

Rural area master race?

Socialism.

>commieblocks look better than detached houses with small gardens and own parking spots
literally definition of byldo dumb pollack

those houses are old, 60s, 70s maybe earlier. They have been redone a bit if you look at the windows on the left the bricks have been replaced for double glazing.

That literally looks no different to the OP you posted

Brings up a related question I've been curious about.

As I understand it, a council house is the Brit equivalent of public/welfare housing in the US--and from pictures I've seen, most of them look essentially the same.

To the question: Are council houses located in groups like welfare housing in the US, or are they dotted about/mixed in with the homes of actual homeowners not on the dole?

I ask as the "dull" look OP mentions makes perfect sense with council housing--it's not like they should get fancy housing, especially if they're just gonna destroy their handout the way welfarians in the US do. (Get a free/cut rate home/apartment, shit all over it and tear it up, then bitch about the state of it. Fucksticks feel no need to take care of it, and why not, they don't have to work for it.) In that sense, I'd rather deal with poor white trash in rural areas--even if their place looks like shit--at least most of them have to hold down at least rudimentary employment to pay for the trailer.

nice little kek

People here like the colour of normal bricks, we don't really cover them up. Bricks are what built this nation and are reminiscent of the industrial revolution. If you live in an American style wooden shed you'll be bullied.

They look the same because they're all built from a plan, this isn't exactly abnormal.

What the fuck, this looks the same as ours? If anything I would say you were copying our designs.

Because retards like you flooded in after WW2. Britain is a small country. If Britain hadn't been so tolerant and allowed so many retards to weak to protect themselves from the Germans in and the multitude of niggers and poo in loos in modern times then maybe we might have more space for better housing. You goddamn freeloading sons of bitches ruined it for us natives and now you complain.

Ireland is even worse.

The problem is that it's so cloudy and it rains all the time. As a result you seldom encounter a bright surface - green algae grows on everything, even though you seldom notice it.

I've been photoshopping images of brickwork and gardens the last few weeks at work. It's hell making the British Isles look photogenic.

I heard there were like 30 pieces of gum on every tile of sidewalk in London but I thought it was bs until I visited. If your people can't not act like animals and toss them in the garbage why not just ban gum altogether the way Singapore does? Seems in line with the general nanny state doctrine you've adopted and would serve some good.

I actually remember this - people complained they had to step on the street to avoid these bushes and it would be dangerous with them being next to an intersection. I felt right at home.

bongie blocks

Why are poles so butthurt about Britain? It's as if they have some kind of inferiority complex from constantly unblocking toilets here.

Yes
real men live on the countryside
+points if you have a dock
theres alot of finns living here aswell which gives us some nice DIVERSITY

maximum comfort

They're built in the same area, I grew up in one unfortunately. A street filled with the poor and scum of the earth and then a few streets away you'll have regular home owners.

London is majority foreign so I'm not surprised they treat my country like a dump

Modernist architects

Watch PJWs video on it

1. Wealthy elites own vast majority of land

2. Relatively small amount of land for large population

3. Poor folk Stockholm Syndromed into thinking that the smallest average house size in Europe is "normal" or "fine"

4. Lack of aesthetic appreciation among the lower classes.

>theres alot of finns living here aswell
Diversity is beauty and strength C O N F I R M E D.

But yes I agree, countryside is for real men, cities were a mistake; that's why they are also the most infected ones in every country.

In fact there is a half naked finn sleeping on the jetty to the left

>modern

built during the industrial revolution

Scotland actually has some nice housing other than council estates

It started with post-war architecture in the 50's - like they say in germany - first came the bombs, then modern city planers.

Buildings in OP's pic are post-war, in fact I bet they demolished something nicer to build them.

>I've been photoshopping images of brickwork and gardens the last few weeks at work. It's hell making the British Isles look photogenic.

that's very funny

>This is for example average polish village
>not living like a XII century peasant
What a plebeian!

>wood instead of brick

Why is a Pole looking at Britain street view

They're built up in their own neighbourhoods. Shithole the lot of them. Grew up on one, they're either full of old cunts or immigrants. The majority of them were built as one house but have been cut in two with one family on each floor in a one or two bedroom box. Lots of crime and few jobs around.

Every county in Europe has nice houses apart from council housing, or their equivalents.

The 50's/60's/70's were really fucking bad for architecture, we have become wife beaten into liking it.

This area is much nicer. :) I also noticed one more thing - Polish buildings are generally higher. We are building multiple level buildings in the village even if the building plot is pretty big. This is interesting difference.

they fit the weather conditions, they are easy to navigate, pretty simple to build so they can be built quickly and efficiently. these are the older houses.

the newer houses are a cluster fuck. the streets are just ridiculous going all different directions, the building work is shoddy, cheap and quick.

old houses were built to last, new houses are built to fail to keep the money rolling in.

>What the hell happened Britain?
British countryside is beautiful, what are you talking about, user? Just because it is different from Poland doesn't mean something is wrong about it.

This is central village where most people live i think its borderline town.
this disgusts me so much, my homogeneous village is being tainted.
allthough they leave and go to the cities once their children are done with studies or get harrased enough to leave. they have no power here

>In fact there is a half naked finn sleeping on the jetty to the left
No snow, no danger :DDD

> Scotland
> Copies of English town houses

o-okay

It seems like it's going to crumble at any moment, but it feels kind of compfy.

I think the German bombings had something to do with the way 1940ish houses were built too, they had to be rebuilt quick after being destroyed.

This actually looks comfy, but it needs some diversity if you know what I mean.

He's looking for somewhere to rent when his visa comes in.

>It seems like it's going to crumble at any moment
It's really not they probably built while Napoleon was in Egypt.

It doesn't stop the Poles coming to the UK in their droves, piss off you polish retard.

>Literally hundreds of thousands of Poles in the UK escaping their shithole poverty
>Come on here making threads about a superficial subject like the architecture of British buildings when the majority of new builds are made by polish builders who are substandard.

Bricks are ugly desu. They should just be painted beige or new houses stop using brick and use concrete. Red bricks make houses look old.

Most modern houses are built shorter than Victorian era housing ect. I live in a Victorian house and you can only just about touch the ceiling if you jump. Makes changing light bulbs a pain though.

this is my street, everyone I know lives in a victorian house not some soulless 50s trash

google.de/maps/@51.462973,-0.0766473,3a,75y,282.79h,90.32t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s_X9UUCFiToYOpb9XFulyoA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=de

If I'm not worrying the roof is going to cave in at any moment I can't sleep right.

They should leave and go back to wherever they hail from. I never understood why anyone would stay at a place where they don't fit in. It's pathetic.

Don't compare your proud nation to this developing nation.

French Architecture is the worst desu

i dont know why but when i look at that picture i think of the smell of cheap beer and bean farts

It's not wood you fucking imbecile

Because those are middle class wage slave houses, I live in a lovey country house

Brick houses still have wooden roofs. how would you get the correct pitch otherwise

>Bricks are ugly
no. cheap mass produced housing that needed to be built quickly without any forethought is.

That could literally be anywhere in Europe though

At least British commie cottages are distinctive

By the way the average pole does not live in a huge detached house, they live in a commieblock

>The color palette is extremely dull, and every building looks almost the same.

(pic related) polish architecture

Trumps first house

I don't know if you've noticed but we kind of like old shit here, so fuck off sep.

That was the most British thing I read the whole day :D .

What do you do when concrete cracks? when bricks crack you remove the brick/s and replace it

how much does one of those houses cost?

dafuq

where are the fences?

2 and a half goats

Okay Brzéczyszczykiewicz, now get back to scrubbing my toilet

the bongs tore down all their pretty and cultural architecture in the 60's and 70's in favor of mass fabricated neighborhoods and apartment towers

england looks like a shitshow now and especially london with that hideous cocoon and shard tower.
no wonder the bongs don't give two shits about their cultural heritage.
same with the germans

Could be anywhere from £50,000 to £100,000 depending on the area.

>middle class
>semi-detached

about $100,000

>Fences
There are, either small stone or bush to show the property limits. In lapland villages we often don't even have those.

we both bombed each other to shit. a lot of architecture was lost.

It depends on localization but between $80000 - $150000 for nicely finished house. Because of the low birth rates there is a lot of empty houses for sale.

the quality of our architecture is inversely proportional to how new it is

They will probably be less than that. £100,000 would be my absolute maximum and that's if they were close to a town or something that was desirable.

M8 why are you even replying to that failed state, everywhere outside of Oslo is covered in wooden sheds. We have more castles and stately homes than anywhere else in the world.

As if Britons didn't master the commie blocks big time.

I'd say, all things considered my house is very aesthetic.

google.co.uk/maps/@51.0158599,-0.1430966,3a,75y,97.07h,78.78t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sc70KStrZ3sHcReY1sch85g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

What the fuck are you talking about? We have a housing crisis here, we need something like a million new homes every year to keep up with demand.

It's just a very average looking place. There are some incredible homes and areas all over this country but you chose to post a dull suburb. You need to get out more user.

he's talking about Poland you nonce

everyone wants to live in Britain so our houses are overpriced like pic related

...

>current year
>not wanting to live like the anglo
