They also, since years claim the S-400 to have a reach of 400 km, but yet the rocket still doesn't seems to be fully through the test phase and most certainly isn't with more than two or three batteries of the s-400. So the Russians and the Americans to a lesser extent always make claims about future weapons systems, which turn out to be rather slightly beyond truth. Daily reminder that S-400 is not FULLY operational. It was planned that S-400 would have range of around 400km~ at max (in best scenarios, of course) with 40N6E missiles, but they never reached actual production.
S-400 only has 48N6 and its variations with semi-active radio guidance with correction, no active missiles like western analogs such as MIM-104 or French SAMP/T.
S-400 current missiles have nice energetical capabilities, but they are previous century in terms of technical insides.
So what is S-500 exactly? if S-400 is not even fucking finished in 2017?
