So, what is it like in countries with universal healthcare?

Are their taxes insanely high or something? Because everyone here acts like that money is just gonna sprout of nowhere.

I wouldn't know

Flag. I'm paying 680 EUR/Month for my "free" health care.

Do this:

1) Find the volume comparison between a liter and a gallon.

2) Search the price average of a gallon of gas right now in the US, and compare that to what the leafs are paying at the pump, which is sold in liters. I'm paying less than $2 a gallon where I am.

3) Then search how much items cost in leaf land compared to the US, like a subway sandwich. Think of five, everyday items and compare prices.

they have low military spending which is why they have uni health care + also why they aren't a world superpower.

Is that 680 in the form of income tax?

this

Have free shit or be relevant you pick

Free xanax

I'll take my military any day. I have a real job so healthcare is included. I couldn't care less if some welfare whore dies of cancer.

taxes so high we can't have kids therefore have to bring in dindus to supplement our populace.

nice thread.
dem jailbait feet tho...

This they make America police the world so they can have a small military and use their bases to house refugees and give them health care with the money they save from not having to do shit to protect themselves
Canada stands under our nuclear umbrella
Hell they don't need an army at all because of us

Last time when my dad had heart attack they took him on ambulance helicopter to hospital and gave him cardiac surgery.
All that shit for free.

I like waiting for anything medically related for months... Or spending hours at the ER just to see a doctor.

yes.
Our healthcare SUCKS.

you get your leg broken, by the time soviet australian doctors decide you are fit to get in front of the thirty muslims yelling about allah your broken leg has set and they need to brake it which means you have to wait longer so they send you home without a doctors certificate unless you ask doctor because soviet doctor very used to muslims, none of which have jobs and he is tired of explaining concept of medical certificate to someone who does not understand the law.

You come back, and they start giving you drugs and you wait for three hours and if you are late soviet doctor tell you to wait two more hours, then when you finally come in they let you into a bed, where you wait another hour, then they do the surgery and apologise because only indian doctors were available because only they won't strike and indian doctors don't understand anything so they break the wrong leg and not both of your fucknig legs are broken and mudskins outside start a riot because someone looked at them.

The taxes are not the worst part of it. The worst part is that now the laziest pieces of shit good for nothing, drunks and vandals can survive, have children and health for their 534534 children. You are basically asking for your country to become a shithole.

oh and don't forget, if something doens't work right, if something fails, YOU DONT GET ANOTHER ONE.

"universal health care" means "you wait for hours then we give you drugs which doesn't fix anything".

yeah, so achmed comes to your country, and he treats you like shit, and you know you are being taxed more because of him, and then the politicians who make you pay tell you not to be mean to him, while he shits on the street and then goes to hostpital because of his cold, and then the newspaper tells YOU not to waste hospitals time because SOMEONE is going ot hospital FOR A FUCKING COLD

I WONDER WHO THAT COULD BE ACHMED

WHO COULD THEY POSSIBLY BE TALKING ABOUT

>"universal health care" means "you wait for hours then we give you drugs which doesn't fix anything".
I didn't know I had universal healthcare

Ontario Jobless user here
Diversity quotas in Ontario can't even have a Honor Role Student get a job at McDonald's.
Electricity bills are likely higher than any price in the States.
Tax is 15% and there is talk of a Carbon tax.
Crippling depression when you hand in a resume to manager at Tim Horton's, sit down drink coffee, group of 5 new immigrants walks in, female manager looks over at me, grins, "Which one of you guys wants a job?".
Immigrant with Zero Resume >>> White Canadian Male.

But at least I can get antibiotics for boils under my armpits that make me shit blood and leave me with a 7 day headache and vomiting.

>mfw essential oils are more helpful and effective than what the diversity quota doctor prescribes you.

Also should mention that you usually have to visit 3 clinics to finally get prescribed a medicine that actually treats what you got.
I was prescribed an Athletes Foot treatment and a Cold medicine for those Boils in my armpits

It just costs less for everyone. Nationalized healthcare is very cost efficient because of the centralized buying program, which gives the government way more leverage than a single hospital buying things from pharmaceutical companies.
Overall the quality is good where I live, richer people can still pay for additional coverage and special treatments in private institutions too.

In the UK with pay per hour or salary work, you have you normal tax dependent on projected earnings and a NI contribution, usually nominal amount. If you're self employed and sort all your own taxes and contributions, NI is optional. You need not pay it, although they suggest an amount to pay.

Taxes are not ludicrous. Income tax are in brackets of 20% < 45K, 30% PAYE (temp work), 40% 45k-150k , 45% > 150K

Then all items in stores have VAT ~20%

I have Ulcerative colitis, so I need a lot of medication to exist. I pay £100 per year to pay for my prescriptions.

My medications would cost roughly £50,000 per year. I pay a little under £120 for it all.

no no, I forgot the most important part:
the whole time as you are waiting, you are being taxed extra to pay for everyone elses drugs, and if they are poor, they don't have to pay extra, which drags everyone down into the same earnings bracket.

High taxes
Go to the docs whenever I feel like I want a day off work and need a sickie note to prove I did

im lighter by about 35 bucks usually and get a sweet prescription

>Are their taxes insanely high or something?
Yep, and the "healthcare" you get is more or less incompetent, ineffective, and you'll likely die of horrible complications by the time you make it to the end of the wait list.

It's almost like having no healthcare, except you can't get it even if you could pay for it (because that would be illegal under muh socialism).

taxes are insanely high and healthcare is insanely shitty.

Canada's overall tax take as a percent of GDP is lower than the US's last I checked.

The difference is in how ludicrously inefficient us healthcare spending is, and higher US military spending.

In Spain, if you are in the richest half of the population, an insanely high amount of your salary goes for the state. And we are ruled by the "right"...

It sucks

It only works if you have a universally fit populous who all works and pays taxes

My dad is getting older and needs a hip replacement. The other day we were out golfing and he had a hip spasm. He fell on the ground and was doing the bacon dance wriggling around. I had to pull his leg and pop it into place. I hadnt seen him in awhile and asked if that had happened before...he said yeah it happens every day. The doctor gives him cortisone shots to make it go away

I asked 'when did they say you could have your surgery' and he told me the doctor told him 'when he couldnt take it anymore'

He is a lifelong liberal so he kindof deserves it....but I couldnt help but shudder

30% tax, i always get a few grand return. poverty tier americans may pay 15% but they cant even afford health insurance anyway

the low cost of being in a top 3 ranking developed nation :^)

Universal healthcare provides universal coverage, better quality and cheaper medical expenses.

You foolish burgers believe, for some reason, that universal healthcare would mean huge expences. In reality, however, it is you who are ripped off by Pharma and Insurance.

America spends more on healthcare than those countries

yeah our taxes are pretty high, but at least i'm not paying thousands of dollars in medical bills.

me and the wife just had a kid, the bill was 120 euro, a visit to the doctor costs around 5 euro (you pay 22 bucks and get 17 back)
my wife also had a root canal done just last week, bill was 300 eurobucks of which we get 270 euro back.

>taxes high as fuck
>healthcare shitty as fuck

Since your country is full of shitskins just like mine, I think your "universal healthcare" would look a lot like ours.

This is all lies.

I only know what it's like to live in America where a nine mile drive in an ambulance costs you over four thousand dollars so you better fucking have insurance.

No, really?

You live in Russia lol

Im paying ~€100 per month for my basic healthcare. With a €400 deductible each year (rarely have to pay that) . Income tax is 35% at the lowest and like 50% at the highest.
It's not that bad, but a 30% flat tax for everyone would be better.

Get educated, americunt

Is that the inside of the white lodge?

Sucks balls, unsurprisingly, as every government program. We don't have any large population of dindus or leches, so it isn't taken extreme advantage of, but it is still collapsing.

I pay 20% of my paycheck for it every month, it is automatic, so no opting out under any circumstances.

It pretty much started well off, but as always it got worse by salami method - tiniest cut here, tiniest cut there, just liiitle extra payment for the medicine that was supposed to be free of charge. Those tiny cuts stacked on, and now we are in a situation where I just don't pick up the prescribed pills. It almost killed me at one occasion.
Another thing was that if you got ill, you'd get sick leave where the gov would pay you 50% of the paycheck for first week or two. That of course got slashed so for the first three days you will get nothing, and for the rest of it the employer will have to pay you 40% for first two weeks.
The predictable result was that working class people stopped staying at home, and suddenly you have shitload of cashiers and drivers who cannot afford to lose three days of wages and run around with 39C fevers, spreading the disease everywhere.
it was beautifully demonstrated during the swine flu epidemic where it completely pointlessly developed in the pandemic, because people refused to go to hospital.
So even if I pay 20%, I ended up in a situation where I visit very expensive clinics, mainly dentists, because I do not want to end up under the knife of some disinterested state underpaid butcher.

I see the flags of all the coments here, and I will say, you guys don't know notting, the taxs in my country are higher than anything only our work money tax is like 2/12 of what we make in a year, and the healty care is so bad that even if you are poor you gonna try pay some private healty care

People die in the waiting row for get a appointment

It's worth mentioning that health care is provincial jurisdiction and Quebec is among the worst in the country by those metrics.

>have over 9000 million population
>one of the largest industries in the world
mfw my homeland is the size of a US county
>lel why cant they be a superpowers
Also, you spend more on social expenses than the military, faggot

all I've learned is don't get hurt wherever the fuck dutch people live on the weekend

>free
For him LOL

yeah but thats brazil
you all shoot each other and have no jobs

It's great. If you look at dollars spent, we have a far more effective system. Overall life expectancy is higher and quality of life is higher (healthwise). Also, medical costs don't bankrupt nearly (not even close) as many Australians as it does Americans. Also, we have subsidised drug costs and the government negotiates prices hard, very unlike in America.

BTW most people think we have ((((SOCIALISM))), we don't. The way it works is:
1 - people pay 2% tax around aus to pay for the costs
2 - A very healthy private system is also promoted to enable a good pressure relief value, with tax incentives for higher earners to get in private insurance.

System works great.

People often bitch about not getting an optional surgery from the public system the day they decide to, but that's okay. You shouldn't expect immediate service from someone who spent more years in education than a rocket scientist. Also, people bitch about wait times at emergency. Again, waiting three hours if there are more acutely ill people than you that need urgent treatment while you don't makes sense economically anyway.

tl;dr we have a public private mix, 2% tax to pay for it, more effective (in $ per years of life extended) and healthcare doesn't bankrupt people.

>what is standard deviation
Depending on the amount of measurements those datasets might show no significant difference

You pay high taxes for poor people to die while they wait for whatever treatment they need and you have to pay for your own private insurance as well.

> I KNOW BETTER THAN A DOCTOR AND WANT SURGERY RIGHT NOW THEREFORE GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT NOW.
> SURGERY FIXES EVERYTHING ITS NEVER INEFFECTIVE

taxes here are lower than in america.... thats what you get when you dont spend trillions of dollars on warfare.

great infrastructure, affordable higher education and not having to worry about going bankrupt from a medical emergency.

you all are free to pay for the military industrial complex.... enjoy

>Are their taxes insanely high or something? Because everyone here acts like that money is just gonna sprout of nowhere.

American Governments spend more per capita funding horrible systems like Medicare and Medicaid than all the other Western countries bar maybe I think Norway spends per capita providing Universal Healthcare

It's not a matter of taxes, It's a matter of America being a steaming pile of dogshit country that can't do anything regarding Healthcare without it costing x10 compared to the rest of the world

Why does it cost so much? Because Healthcare is not a profitable business If you can't let people die, and If you can't let people die you have to charge exorbitant prices to cover it all. The private sector will *NEVER* be able to offer good coverage to all of the population. Americans insistence on relying on private healthcare and competition is what keeps It expensive. If the Government came in and acted as a single payer prices would go down because of economics of scale.

The Government paying for 100 peoples Healthcare through 1 Supplier of Medical Goods is far cheaper than 5 Insurers paying for 100 peoples Healthcare through 10 Suppliers of Medical Goods.

Not accurate.
> pay 2% tax (((((HHHHHIIIIGGGHHH TAAAXXEESSS)))))
> Tax incentives mean it makes more sense for rich people to also purchase private insurance
It's like you don't really understand what you're talking about or something

>compare gas prices of a producer with gas prices of consumer nations

The rest is legit advice though. You do need to factor in wages. Prices in Germany are quite decent compared to the average salary.

Universal health care is a brilliant thing when you apply it in a homogeneous country with a common good mentality. The problem of many countries is that they have literally accepted millions of foreign parasites that at best don't give a shit about the country they're in, or at worst actively despise it and consider that defrauding is some form of jihad, or counter-colonialism shit. On the other end of the spectrum you have multi national corporations that are happy to make billions of profit in said countries but will use every possible tool to avoid paying taxes that would benefit said countries. The result is bleeding from the top and the bottom, with only the middle class paying for everything while they have less and less good public services for their money : public housing, hospitals, schools are all damaged by the parasites.

> tries to link healthcare costs with race
AHHHHHhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahaha

Your government spends more money per capita on healthcare than the next two big spenders combined nigger shut the fuck up.

Your healthcare costs are through the fucking roof because americans took "muh ancap healthcare" and "muh government subsidies", picked the worst traits of both systems, stuck them together and called their own.

Taxes are high
It takes 5-6 hours to get into the emergency room
They charge an arm and a leg if your not a leaf
They rarely provide actual medication
They are short staffed.
The doctors we do put out tend to be either overworked or move to countries without universal healthcare.
And worse of all the administrative staff never bring any damn water or ice when they offer to get you some.

oh yeah and 14,2% of the taxes i pay go to healthcare and i have to pay 25% in taxes

Lol, this.

well it ranges from horrible to surprisingly decent, on one side the government is forced to pay for those forbiddingly expensive medicine/treatments for poor folk born with rare diseases, and if you wait like 2 years you can get a good open heart surgery done completely for free, but at the same time you have people dying in the emergency lines of hospitals due to a momentary/local deficiency in doctors/beds/supplies and some misdiagnose stories in the public system make you lose your faith in the entire medical class

not like it matters anyway , because we also have private insurance, which I'd say about 60% of the population is able to afford to some capacity, and with the best plans you get access to the best facilities and doctors and treatments in all of latin america

I don't know why americans think they can't have both, public and private healthcare

Lower than countries without it.

>It takes 5-6 hours to get into the emergency room
When you come to the "emergency room" with some bullshit then no wonder.

EDs in developed countries use a triage system for assesing priority of patients.
You get green, you wait.
You get yellow, you should be taken care of within an hour.
You get red, that's life threatening situation.

Some places use Blue too. Blue means "Should've stayed at home you fuckwit"

>the 2% Medicare levy is the only tax you pay towards Medicare
It's like you don't really understand what you're talking about or something

Yet we still have the most medical patents, and a majority of the highest rates of survival for many diseases.

no arguie with that, but like I said in a country wich the politics love power and make a big money, the tax will aways grown and the "universal" healt care is just a excuse for that, the americans see what the Obamacare done to them, and if I remmerber the obamacare is based in our SUS

Single-payer is expensive and inefficient. Just look at the VA.

>Universal health care is a brilliant thing when you apply it in a homogeneous country with a common good mentality. Even accepting all that at face value, what does it matter how immigrants view public healthcare? They still have to pay taxes, whether they like where the money is going or not.

People in France like their medical system which relies heavily on homeopathy.

Homeopathy is particularly popular in France. A survey of French pharmacists was conducted in 2004 and found that an astounding 94.5 percent reported advising pregnant women to use homeopathic medicines.

Homeopathy is popular not only among the French public but also among the French medical community. As many as 70 percent of physicians are receptive to homeopathy and consider it effective, at least 25,000 physicians prescribe homeopathic medicines for their patients. Courses in homeopathy are taught in 21 of France’s 24 schools of pharmacy.

A homeopathic health practitioner (homeopath) uses pills or liquid mixtures (solutions) containing only a little of an active ingredient (usually a plant or mineral) for treatment of disease. These are known as highly diluted or "potentiated" substances. The "centesimal" or "C scale", is diluting a substance by a factor of 100 at each stage. A 2C dilution requires a substance to be diluted to one part in 100, and then some of that diluted solution diluted by a further factor of 100.

This works out to one part of the original substance in 10,000 parts of the solution. A 6C dilution repeats this process six times, ending up with the original substance diluted by a factor of 100^6=10^12 (one part in one trillion or 1/1,000,000,000,000). Higher dilutions follow the same pattern.

In homeopathy, a solution that is more dilute is described as having a higher "potency", and more dilute substances are considered by homeopaths to be stronger and deeper-acting. The end product is often so diluted as to be indistinguishable from the diluent (pure water, sugar or alcohol).

About 45% from flags like ours goes to the gpvernment

>healty care is so bad that even if you are poor you gonna try pay some private healty care

Read this sentence you leftist cocksucker, and carve it into your brain, because this is what happens EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.

I am missing half of my teeth, because I refused the ridiculousy expensive payment for the fix or for the new one.
One teeth nerve canal can cost you whole paycheck and if you ever went to state doctor, you either borrow the money to fix it in private, or you just let it get removed altogether.

Once an ambulance had to pick me up, because I was screaming in pain like a fucking animal after the drugs wore off and a botched teeth repair started to hurt. My wife was in panic because I was pleading her to take pliers and rip it out.
Glad that we have 'Freeeeeeee healthcare©' 'ItIsHyuuuuumanRight©'

>Yet we still have the most medical patents
Yeah, when a country where 40% of population is NYHA IV and at an everyday risk of a fucking cardiac arrest then no wonder.

>Even accepting all that at face value, what does it matter how immigrants view public healthcare? They still have to pay taxes, whether they like where the money is going or not.
They have to, they should, but will they?

You might be confusing patient with patent

Right, fair point.

Yes.
Do you have actual statistics that show otherwise?

> We need more people to tax
> Bring in Indians
> He gets a job
> His two ancient parents get to come over because he is lonely
> they spend their last 15 years on earth milking our system and costing us more money than that one immigrant could ever hope to bring in

>complaining about a procedure involving one paycheck
>getting an ambulance when in pain
>not telling people to let you die because you'd go bankrupt

>click thread expecting more cute feet
>no more feet
fuck your thread

>implying patents are a good thing
do you like copyright up your ass too you cuck?

>Once an ambulance had to pick me up
Because you were in pain? My fucking sides I can already imagine the faces of the paramedics when they arrived.
My friend had his fingers shredded by a power planer and he drove himself to the hospital.

Who do you think paid for that ambulance you rightist cocksucker? Why didn't you just call a taxi to drive you to the nearest private abortion clinic if you enjoy your private® healthcare™ services so much?

HTFU

If I didn't have to pay for the stupid healthcare, I could afford to be airlifted, you dumb mongoloid. Maybe you missed the point where I said they cut 20% of my paycheck for it every month?

First, the gov takes 25% of your paycheck. Then you pay 25% tax on everything you can buy in the country. After that you pay rent with what you have left. If you can scrape by with the last few crowns in your pocket, you might be able to feed yourself.

What do you get? Decent streets, safety nets upon safety nets for the dregs of humanity and large salaries for shitty politicians.

Oh, and you get 'cheap' - not free, healthcare.

Achmed on the other side of the street skips out on all of the above and obtains 'priority citizen' status.
If he has any discomfort at all our liberals must see to it that his needs will be sated for my money.

pls help

you belive that no one will pay for you teeth, beeing glad to don't pay for your own shit and I am the leftist?

>an airlift, procedure, and hospital stay cost me 20% of my paycheck per month
>a literal air ambulance
>the hospital bill doesn't instantly consume your entire paycheck for half a year

lel

It's too late. Strap yourself in while we're headed for the brick wall of total collapse. It's gonna be a wild ride

It is also not single payer healthcare.

Free crap for the weak

Let them die I say

Medicare is actually breddy based. Unless you have a job, in which case you usually have to go Private. Which is horrendously fucking expensive for what you get.

>t. dad of 2 kids - kids have had private health insurance due to muh health stuff.
>t. the missus and I have had ops and cancer treatment via medicare and never waited nor felt like we were getting 2nd best

>2 - A very healthy private system is also promoted to enable a good pressure relief value, with tax incentives for higher earners to get in private insurance.

I wouldn't call it a tax incentive. If you are a high income earner, you have to pay the 2% medicare levy and fund your own family's private health insurance or else you get taxed the equivalent of the private health fund cost.

So, if you are a high income earner, you pay for the public health system, you are forced to pay for private insurance, and if you seek treatment through that private insurance, you get hit with paying a considerable portion of your private health treatment.

The Aus system is great if you are an obese, chain smoking NEET, cos the productive healthy people are getting gauged to cover your medical expenses.

Then why does usa spend the 2nd highest amount of gdp in healthcare in the world?

How about creating an environment where if someone wants to work they can make enough money to provide their basic needs? Would that be too logical?

THIS

Private is great here. Medicare is fine for everything, and private is just for bonuses. I pay less than the levy, and get the nice shit like private room, free massages, and cheap dental.

don't try an confuse me with your big words eurofag

I've never really cared to much about these healthcare arguments really. Never really liked doctors either the way you're "treated" is retarded

>go to hospital
>wait for hours
>doctor finally fucking shows up
>doc I'm sick/hurt
>yup you sure are, I'm not going to give you any pain killers for your blown out back or broken bones, no antibiotics when you're sick either
>why not doc
>because lol come back next week for a checkup

Thats pretty much been my experience. then I assume they bill my insurance company like 10gs or some outrageous amount of money. What a racket

FREE?

Research and development.

Kinda. Since i'd have to pay extra tax otherwise.
