today i got high and was discussing evolution with my black friend and when he mentioned that he didn't believe in it, i said it was probably because he was black (i know that a lot of black people don't believe in evolution). When i realized the implications of this statement i tried to backpedal by explaining that the monkeys in africa are more human-like, and considering we both agree that life began there it would kinda give a black people reasons to be offended by the concept of evolution if they are driven to the idea that there's something inherently special about us as human beings.
I guess my question is, am i racist?

Race was invented in the 14th Century by Ibn Khaldun, one of the most famous Muslim philosophers of all time, as part of a theological argument to justify the enslavement of Muslims by Muslims (haram, FYI) in West Africa, which was necessary for North African slave traders who had lost access to the slave markets of Crimea due to the Ottomans.

Ibn Khaldun expanded this idea to argue that black Africans were naturally suited from birth for certain things, including slavery, which made it okay for Muslims to enslave them even if they Muslims.
When the Spanish and Portuguese took over the slave trade in the 15th Century, they adopted the idea that Africans were natural slaves and the ball went rolling from there.

Because there are slight genetic differences between the different races. There are also the obvious physical differences between them as well. I do not get how people can say race is a construct. It would be like saying that there is no difference between black labs and pugs that any differences described are just constructs, even though there clearly are physical differences.
