I know it is bizzare but Asians are very very close knit. The isolation period in Japan, the closing of China from 1949-1980, what do these have in common? As for maneating stairs, Chinese people are pretty myopic. A lot of people cut corners when it comes to business, and safety regulations aren't strictly enforced. Plus business owners like to cut and run when things get real dicey.
