bump

reminds me of native american art , slightly

but they probably seized it because it was a reminder of their defeat etc and just stamped it degenerate to save face

looks like shit

Most of his works were seized, not just this one. It was siezed because the figures were thought to be malformed and emancipated.
Not what I asked.

This statue makes war look unappealing. The Nazi declared anything anti war as degenerate.

It's easier to get the population excited for a new great war if they do not remember the old great war.

Germans suck at modern warfare.

Fair point, anything anti-war would be important for them to dispose of. What about a painting like this which was also declared degenerate?

I don't know why it would be degenerate. Maybe the Nazi's had something against impressionist art. I can't find anything in the Wikipedia that would make me think this would be considered degenerate.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sick_Child

Why are Nazi faggots so butthurt? Always squealing like piglets

That was originally granny-on-trap porn. The unedited version depicts the black haired woman sucking off the bedridden girl's disproportionately large fem-wang

The Nazis did not like modern art/impressionism. They considered it Jewish or communist in nature.

You are lazy for not google-ing this first

choo choo mutherfucker

It seems pretty obvious to me, nazis wanted art to be beautiful and to inspire, that painting has beauty but it doesn't show something beautiful like a happy family, it shows something sad and demoralizing.

I went to see an art exhibition of Otto Dix during high school, he painted daily stuff during the weimar era, poor people, prostitutes, even that was too "degenerate" and he was forced to paint happy and inspiring stuff during the nazi regime.

I'm aware of what Degenerate Art is, that's what the entire thread is about. The Sick Child is incredibly harmless, how is it Jewish or communist in nature?
Bit unfair to deem themselves as the top art critics.

>Bit unfair to deem themselves as the top art critics.

So is killing handicapped people, that didn't stop them. Also anything that produces something else than pride and loyalty to the in-group or happiness is harmful to a totalitarian regime. Art is a great way to pass a message and to empathize with something. A painting like the sick child does make people realize that there are more important stuff than killing gypsies. Also the message isn't necessarily wrong but the delivery is, a nazi approved version would show the family supporting the mother, the child being nursed back to health and recovering. Now it's only showing misery which is demoralizing and when you're in a world war against the rest of the world you need your nation to be at its best and having them stop and feel and empathize with suffering isn't a good way to handle morale.

>tfw you don't understand art
Why was it banned for being degenerate?

it's understandable, I do not respect ultra-realistic paintings that were done since invention of a camera, that's why hitler wasn't accepted because he was too mechanical and lacked his own personal touch that defined him and could easily be recognized as HIS art. His art is more like commissioned illustrations for manual or book or dictionary

I think it looks cool, but it was probably too painful of a reminder for what they wanted to achieve.
I don't know if people would've been demoralized by it really, you could easily spun it as being patriotic and inspiring hatred towards the enemy.

>REEEEEE I DONT LIKE THAT ART BAN IT

- Stylized form that didn't follow the classical sensibilities of idealized form.
- Showing war as horrific; the art piece isn't uplifting but rather a horror show.

Just my guess

Why wouldn't you respect it? Not even the craft that went into creating something realistic? Why is it only valid in photography? A painting can show things that don't exist unlike a photo (before photoshop). Even if there's no personal touch to it it's still worthwhile. This painting doesn't have any touch like van Gogh's yellowish twirls or an expressionist's exagerated features yet it's still beautiful, why does its creation date make it good or bad depending on whether it came before or after the camera?

That picture is so misleading, the fact is that Hitler wasn't a terribly good artist, not even for the style of painting he did.

Hitler failed at art for the same reasons he failed at war. Trouble with perspective.

The artwork is more than just an 'abstract criticism of the horrors of war'. It's making a statement particularly about WWI, a war which the germans would have won hands-down if not for concentrated repeated jewish efforts towards undermining it. Germany went from one of the countries in Europe with its own internally stable banking systems before the war, to totally controlled by international jewry after. This artwork is trivializing a war effort, and moralizing against it; a war effort which was for the survival of the german nation, and whose destruction can be seen tilling nearer to fruition every hour. We are living in a communist world; Lenin proved the prophetic one when he urged his fellow communists to focus as much, if not more, on applying communist ideals to all facets of life, culture, national values, etc, and not jus on the economic question. He was not merely fighting for Germany, for we all will fall after her, and continue to fall. Fuck that faggot little statue. No civilization anywhere is justified in not destroying it.

You'll just have to accept that the Nazis were basically retarded. There were a few interesting and intelligent people in their ranks but they were always drowned out by the autists at the top. Sup Forums liking Hitler is just knee-jerk contrarianism and laziness, Hitler is a meme compared to the other fascist/third position thinkers of the time.

well you singled THIS one out in the OP, idiot

some art was banned - art styles and themes that were deemed degenerate. impressionism, modern, surrealist - all degenerate. themes of immorality, weakness, fear, greed, lust, etc. - all degenerate. these types of art are subversive in nature and are an attempt to blur the lines of right and wrong. the subjectiveness lead directly to moral and societal decay of post-modernist thought.

Is that the actual reason or are you just trying to sound smart?

also if you're looking for a single common thread connecting the art Germans called 'degenerate' then you're dim or just being intentionally obtuse

I think it looks like shit- but you're right about everything

-.t edgemeister

>The Sick Child is incredibly harmless, how is it Jewish or communist in nature?
This is how.

The Nazis were pathetically terrified of modernity. Only an autist can oppose human evolution, innovation, experimentation in art. If the Nazis won the war, the globe would be a cultural desert. I don't like Jews either btw

>paints nude men
>photographed multiple times with a boner while checking out marching soldiers
>mancrush on albert speer
hitler was a fag confirmed

>The Nazis were pathetically terrified of modernity
Have you seen the modern world?
They were right to be terrified.

Is war not horrific? People die, kill each other, guts fly everywhere, people see their friends die in front of their eyes. Why pretend that war isn't what it really is? How is this any different than SJW liberals being "triggered" whenever someone mentions that reality isn't what they want it to be?

defeatist and antiwar propaganda should be illegal

9/11 was the jewish reptilian marxists

>The Nazi's seized this statue in the 1930's, declaring it degenerate. Was this justified?
Got any proof?

>Because you can't be afraid to fight
>You can't become a pussy about not fighting necessary wars
>You can't have anti-war art in the middle of a world war fighting for your existence

natsoc doesn't want wars but if you must fight then you must fight well and with all your spirit

Funniest part is most Sup Forums NatSocs would've been killed in the Night of the Long Knives if they lived in Germany in the '30s.

It's pretty fucking ugly to be honest.

that is actually very interesting and perniant to today

>terrified of modernity
>the most advanced nation on earth for nearly the entirety of Nazi rule
I think you might be retarded. What they wanted to avoid was the literally degeneration of art into meaningless nothing that Hitler predicted would happen if art continued on the path it was going on, so he reversed that path and intended to avoid the collapse of art into what it is now.

No one was more pro human evolution than the Nazis.

you should be thanking them for their selfless devotion to solving the JQ, a service to all humanity

How was the war necessary? If Hitler stopped after annexing Sudetenland, even after defeating France, he'd be considered the greatest German of all time. Even if the Soviet Union invaded later, Germany would've bled them dry, since they'd know their surroundings and environment, would have more morale, and wouldn't get encircled thousands of miles away from home like in Stalingrad.

How was the war a "fight for your existence" when Germany still exists today? It's true there are many third world immigrants in Germany but Germans are still a majority, and eventually they will kick them out (in my opinion).

What is that style and why is it popular with Slavs and central euros? Like Zdzisław Beksiński . All the figures are emaciated and dystopian.

he was told he drew like an architect so he want to pursue that instead, its what got him involved in politics

Funny that they borrowed the term from Max Nordau, founder of the world Zionist organization. Banning art for degeneracy was just a Jewish trick all along.

>MUH DEGENERACY

Plato was fairly anti-art and understand how artist function and shouldn't function within a society. Its that artist are usually immoral but they are presenting moral ideas and fuck it up generally speaking.

It wouldn't have just been the Soviets invading. It would have been the Soviets from the east, the French from the west, and the English from the north. Churchill and other leaders wanted to neuter Germany before it could become a world power. Hitler tried peace talks over and over but nothing ever came of it, and he was always turned down. By 1939 it was obvious that the Second War was going to happen whether Germany wanted it or not.

>2017: 99% of the world's population is enslaved, syria and fucking north korea are the only countries without a rothschild central bank
>"you thank them for solving the JQ"
Thanks a lot Shitler. Thanks for I$raHell, thanks for Goldman Sachs, thanks for making anti-semitism taboo and unacceptable in polite discourse forever

I recognize that style. It's almost exclusively used in wood from what I saw.

Can't give you an answer but there's something deeply unappealing about it.

it does look like shit

This. Pic related is about a Russian folk story of children and a crocodile. It was torn down after the war because the regime didn't like people to see monuments that didn't explicitly promote communism.

>Implying Hitler didn't attempt to negotiate peace heavily after conquering Poland
>Implying Hitler didn't again try to negotiate peace heavily after conquering France

Seeing war as just a horrible thing is bad for morale, the less favorably a people see a war, the less they'll support it, the less they support it the worse you'll do and the easier it'll be for your country to fall apart. Compare Italy to Germany, the Reich held till the last, the Italians revolted almost immediately.
The Italian people didn't want war anymore, the Germans saw it as a war for survival.

German identity was destroyed, there are still "Germans" but their culture was obliterated. They were Americanized. It's Germany in name.

And Hitler would never have stopped after Sudentland, the priority of the Reich was the German peoples, a no-man left behind kind of thing. Letting German peoples that want to join the Reich suffer away under the Polish is a betrayal of his ideals.

...

French and British could only invade Germany when it was bled dry by the Soviets in the East. If Germany never attacked the Soviet Union, they could easily defend Europe from any invasion.

It's true Churchill (and the Rothschilds who owned him) hated Germany and wanted to enslave it. But Stalin also hated Churchill, and strongly disliked Jews (purging most of them in 1937) and proposed Hitler an alliance, which Hilter refused:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/German–Soviet_Axis_talks

Hitler's only redeeming factor was being redpilled on the Jews. His megalomania made him feel invincible, made him make too many stupid mistakes and doomed us all to Jewish slavery.

Fuck off Shlomo

Implying that Hitler didn't arbitrarily slaughter 6 million jews.

>Implying Stalin was a trustworthy individual.
Finland wants to talk.

The Soviet goal was to weaken the Fascist and the Capitalists as much as possible, any agreement that would allow them to stay neutral while having Capitalists and Fascists slaughtering each other was highly beneficial to them. If Hitler had accepted this it's unlikely the Soviets would help much, they'd probably just eat all their neighbours and hope Germany doesn't interfere until it's wiped out or been wiped out by the Capitalists.
The reason for the German invasion of Russia was the Germans were convinced the Soviets were about to invade Germany. Whether they were actually close to invading Germany or would have waited a few years I don't know, but striking first was inarguably the best option if it's a guarantee the Soviets would attack Germany.

>Implying the Holohaox is real
JIDF plz

He tried to negotiate peace with Rothschild Britain, which was a wate of time because they would never accept anything other than unconditional surrender. Meanwhile, he launched a massive attack on Stalin, a man who grudginly admired Hitler, and who was his only potential ally against Britain. Then, according to Albert Speer, he also developed a grudging admiration for Stalin, going so far as to withdraw the Luftwaffe from the Eastern Front, changing his mind yet again (for the third time) about who his greatest enemies were.

I wonder how much of this could've been avoided if Hitler's doctors weren't giving him meth on a daily basis.

Implying I havent personally spoken with several holocaust survivors, nazi cunt.

But were they holocoaster survivors?

Sauce of that pic?
Video?

Ah yes, the anecdote from one book thats not corroborated in any other account. That claim was an isolated falsehood told by one individual.

that's the point, one you posted is good type of realism with personal touch and feeling. But when you stand there and question if that's a photo or a painted work then it failed as art

I've seen this sculpture in real life in the cathedral at Magdeburg. It always struck me that the central figure looks quite a bit like Hitler, so maybe they thought so too.

>striking first was inarguably the best option
It was inarguably the worst option. Russia is a massive country whose logistics and weather make it almost impossible to invade. If Germany would create "Fortress Europa", a massive defensive line on its Eastern border, hundreds of miles deep, it would make a Soviet invasion basically impossible.

Morale is another factor. If Germany was invaded, the Wehrmacht would fight way harder than IRL, where they were an aggressor nation.

its kind of ugly I get it

Probably cuse it made Germans look like apologetic manlets

He didn't have the time to do that though.

>things would be better if he did it right

Well no shit.
