Why does capitalism make everything ugly?

why does capitalism make everything ugly?

Modernism, not capitalism. Blame liberalism and progressivism for destroying traditionalist aesthetics, capitalism only works with what it's got, and if it's got brutalist morons, then that's what gets made.

capitalism is liberalism

You're operating under a different definition of liberal then

""""classic""""" liberalism if you will

Not everything ugly. Everything the same.

>they build a skyscraper who's first priority is ads and second priority is apartments for rent
>they will build a space station so we can watch from McDonald's houses on moon the ads on that space station

It was always Capitalist, communist scum.

>capitalism makes everything ugly
what did he mean by this

No, it's capitalism you stupid fuck. Earning capital at any cost = the entire world you live in is blanketed in advertisement

there is hope yet

Ugly capitalist swine buildings ain't got shit on these commie beauties. Hubba hubba!

Because they put money first, everything else comes second.

capitalism isnt the same as earning capital at any cost.
The netherlands more or less invented modern capitalism and our ancestors were still building nice looking stuff when capital was growing rapidly.

capitalism made you make this post

>implying those building weren't built under a capitalist system
globalized mass consumerism and lack of morals are the problem, not the underlying capitalism per se

this. communism is even uglier

>implying trying too hard with all the lights and advertising
>not trying hard enough
>burn the stars out of the skies with your electricities

>if you are not a capitalist you are a communist

Oh, that's nice done.

>Modern capitalism is just as subversive as Marxism. The materialistic view of life on which both systems are based is identical. As long as we only talk about economic classes, profit, salaries, and production, and as long as we believe that real human progress is determined by a particular system of distribution of wealth and goods, then we are not even close to what is essential.

Because we focus too much on money, and because we allow it to. Calitalism is fine, but like everything, in moderation. We should buy what we need but avoid decadence and a reliance on materialism. Problem is the decadant have learned they can have the masses supply their decadence.
We need to impliment a focus on culture amd the folk, instead of the focus on economics and monetary systems that have taken over our societies entierly.
It's not capitalism, it's decadence and gluttony and lustfulness and greediness that can follow when the people become docile.

Capitalism is just a tool, the problem is when you put the tool above the product.

They made it worse. It's 2017 the classic style should be a thing in the past
Meh
This looks cozy
Brutal architecture is beautiful, I love it

Gtfo. I can't believe there's a single person on this earth who actually likes those brutalist eyesores

Ironically that pic shows a progression into more socialists times in the US.

I remember going camping way out in the mountains, only two tiny little buildings were within at least 45 miles or so around me.
I've been to small towns and seen the stars before, they indeed look quite nice. But even in small towns, or strips between towns with a few roadlights, it pales in comparison to the beauty of the sky totally undisturbed by light.
It's evil that we blot out what has been a source of wonder and inspiration for our species for all time until recently. We have something so beautiful hanging right above us and we can't even see it, it's been blocked from our view, censored, by electric lights. It makes so much of a difference. I pray for mass EMPs to be set off.

Commieblocks originated in French north africa in the late 19th century

>not liking more well designed, beautiful buildings

Keep in mind swedes, French and Germans also get off to their country being raped by muslims. Take their opinions with a grain of shit

About 100 white women were raped by black males in America yesterday. That's just according to the annual average. Realistically much, much more given the time of year, summer vacation, hot weather.

What have you done about it?

i think they can be great for prisons or forts
>crushing the soul of your inmates and enemies with soul crushing architecture

You mean communism ?

This.

what's sadder is that Communist china is allowed to post shit on it

this shit is disgusting, wish we could demolish it faster

I'll just be leaving this here

...

...

Because it centralizes power to those who care only about profit, whereas fascism depends on aesthetics to control the populace, thus giving the people control over, if nothing else, aesthetic values.

...

brilliant
I like

it was a better time user ;_; a better time

I like those two as well

ya well seems so.

That's got to be one of the most retarded questions I have ever read on Sup Forums. Where you born this stupid or were you in a really bad accident that fucked up your brain?

Capitalism is Libertarianism, not Liberalism.

Same. I remember during the mass blackout of 2003, my brother and I sat in the bed of my dad's truck in the driveway just in awe of how bright the sky was. We aren't even in the city; we're in the suburbs. The light pollution extends further than people realize.

>one times square is owned by the (((Lehman Brothers)))

Look no further

No.

>where
is this a joke chaim?

communism is basically prison

yes

Yes? And?

Here's your answer

Or maybe it has more to do with that technology has advanced since then where the costs of placing giant advertisements or whatever onto buildings becomes a viable use of their resources and that future building adopt that instead.

Not everything needs to be attributed to politics my desus.

no.

this is why we shouldn't let americans post

fag

Oh Sweden
Nobody takes you seriously.

Is that the new tower of terror?

Greed, mostly

Boston Avenue United Methodist Church

Why do most modern buildings seem fragile, flimsy, sterile and temporary? Cost? Regulations?

Looks like a GPU driver problem

>first pic
Capitalism
>second pic
Capitalism
>third pic
Capitalism

What now faggot?

Architectural beauty is more expensive and doesn't recoup its' costs.

Well, that is, it's more expensive unless the (((architect))) making an ugly turd is in high-demand for some reason while the aesthetic architect, due to not making shit-boxes, is in low demand

>Architectural beauty is more expensive and doesn't recoup its' costs.
w r o n g

As for OP

The last pic is actually the least capitalistic considering it's New York in the 21st century

Didn't read the second line, did you?

Architecture has become a racket with inflated costs just like (((art)))

Regular people prefer traditional architecture, it has been proven by studies over and over again, the ones ordering new building projects arent the people though

Not all of the costs of bad architecture are monetary. Mental hygiene is important.

All forms of Judaism.

Cost mostly and just market forces, labor costs too. Regulations also squeeze the profit.

It's just a general global trend though and it's incorrect to blame it on capitalism. It's like blaming white people for everything just because they've been most successful. You put the blame on the easiest target. No good deed goes unpunished.

Fuck New York. All they do is bitch about not being in their shitty state. Seriously who the fuck likes that cesspool?

New York actually used to be epic

Its one of the few places I want to visit in America.
I've seen it so often in film, tv, games that I want to experience some of it for real. Not sure why.

Inflated costs always come when you want a building that stands out. Those traditional buildings might be nice, but they're not special. And if you want to go cheaper you'll go corbusier style, that's when you get efficient construtions which will be both practical and reusable for future use.

So is communism then

Living in that city it is a sad site seeing how modernism and soc realism did a number on it

Zagreb is nice, but had it's development been planned in line with the preservation of its pre 20s identity, it would have been a real gem.

I don't understand what you mean by "they're not special"

Do you mean that there are already a lot of traditional buildings and as such they arent as unique or that they aren't grand enough?

this is actually rebuilding thought, the building was destroyed in ww2 and comies put that ugly shit there

Remove Jews

Mostly not unique enough, but also not grand enough in a sense.
These cities just want a building that stands out, and with modern architecture you can make a museum look very unique.

I guess you can make a traditional dome or something but then it comes off as a try hard fake monument. In the past people built things in the style that was, seems strange to suddenly copy everything from the past.

Not to mention in the past people like master-carpenters and specialized architects to put their own flair to a building too. Don't think we could recreate the flair these buildings had these days with ease.

I don't dislike traditionalism, but I do feel there's a need to merge it with modernism.

Greed = Jews

/THREAD/

This is very normal and strongest argument against traditional architecture, that it doesn't "fit the time" and in many ways you are correct.

I guess my biggest problem with modernism and post-modernism is that it was primarily a reactionary movement that discarded everything old. Modernism and post-modernism didnt build on old architectural styles or draw inspiration from anything old. The more bizarre it looks the better

Pic-related Dubrovnik which is very low-profile but still looks great imo

Looks like a poorfag colony, just like the rest of the country, if it wasn't marketed so heavily, no one would give a shit about it.

Actually with small investment this building can be made to look beautiful.

Of course only to certain extent. It's certainly not the worst I've seen.

I was there a week ago and I agree there are too many tourists. 90% of the town were northern europeans

It's beautiful modern art.

>Americans way of thinking

No, it's modernism you dumb fucking nigger. Look up the fall of architecture in the last hundred years or so. They're purposefully trying to create a dystopian image from their buildings to crush creativity.
