I wouldn't even say it was that. To most people, the Toby Maguire spiderman movies are the definitive spider man movies, with everything after them seeming like a waste of time. Plus, the spiderman movies post spiderman 3 have had 2nd and 3rd tier villains that were totally miscast, where as the Raimi movies had the best villains spiderman has to offer with appropriate people filling the roles.

I honestly feel as if the directors (as in not anyone else at Marvel, but just the directors of Winter Soldier) have lolbertarian leanings.
