your argument is fundamentally flawed because the framework for your argument is flawed
you are assuming that people are all fundamentally reasonable individuals that can determine what is best for them
trying to subvert their reasoning with something completely different/not logical to said individual will most likely not work
but that framework is completely false because most people just latch on to the trendiest ideology without making logical leaps that results in a conclusion themselves
