Librarians make pretty decent money, my friend is one. The only issue I see is with the way technology is going I'm not sure how secure the job is with all the e-book mumbo jumbo.

Fair enough, I'm not necessarily arguing that the concept of needing a masters to be a librarian is a little silly, just that it's a pretty niche job and there's plenty of worse degrees out there you could be getting, if she ends up with a job at a library and makes the average salary it's not like she's going to be in a tight spot.
