So you would rapidly jack up taxes rather than engage in dramatic deficit spending? At least your smart enough not to blow up reserve currency.
How do you believe you will be able to enforce dramatically higher taxes? The Socialists right now have a poor grip on the actual proletariat (IE: The people who produce surplus value,) and no grip on the military. What they have a tremendous grip on, and what propels the Left, is the lumpenproletariat, or the people who don't produce surplus value but vote, and the intellectuals themselves. To raise taxes to the level the Socialists want, would create significant unrest in the system, by taxing the proletariat and bourgeois, for the benefit of the lumpenproletariat. How do you plan on dealing with that unrest?

Because they will be receiving services in return. Think, there is historical precedence for this. When social security was first debated it was wildly unpopular, even among Dems. It was finally barely passed, and instantly was hugely popular. The Democrats could point to it and say "hey, remember when you didn't have money when you were old? Now you have money when you're old" it was enough to give them power for about 2 decades actually. It still exists even today, even though it flies counter to everything Republicans believe in, because of how popular it is and how violent the consequences of taking it away would be. As for your comparison to other countries - the US is a very different place in almost every way, and if there is one economy in the world that could handle the transition, it's ours
How about fuck off

>Workers are getting screwed, and they pay bosses to order them about with money from their own labour! Socialist revolution now! Why don't socialists just quit their jobs and start a co-op? Why are they so insistent on shooting people and bringing in an authoritarian state they hope will dismantle the free market?

You can tell the Left cannot win its debates because it has to resort to coercion or insulting when presented with a counterargument. It only makes you look weaker in the eyes of the people you would try to be influencing. Even the Stalinists, when holding an iron grip over Russia, allowed for debates, because they knew they could win them if pressed.
But to answer your first point, which is an actual argument, you will hope that enough 'benefits' will emerge to the masses to 'bribe them' into supporting your regime, thus expanding the base overall, not just to include unemployed urban-dwellers.
Alright. We hit the point of 'wait-and-see' attitude. Historically, what happens when taxes are too high and benefits too large is inflation because supply is redirected away from investment toward consumption.
Even if you were a full-fledged commie, for instance, you would be shot for advocating for too many benefits to the masses because state-owned enterprises would be deprived of capital necessary to increase production.
But I know where you stand now, so we'll have to wait and see whether you'll be able to emerge triumphiantly over the Globalists/Neoliberals/Corporatists/whatever-you-want-to-call-them. I'm sure you will take over the Democrats, but it's another thing to see if you'll be able to take out the nationalists.

I could get on board if I knew there was a fail-safe mass extermination program for non whites that was extremely efficient and swift.

I cannot debate your point about race if you cannot understand the ways in which racism is institutionalized in just about every facet of our society. It is honestly a waste of my time and I will not be able to change your mind if living in this country hasn't done it already. If you believed those things you would not even be asking the question.
As to your other point, that really is the big question. Who knows? It definitely gives me hope though

>Why don't socialists just quit their jobs and start a co-op? Because the employer owns the means of production dumbfuck. >Why are they so insistent on shooting people and bringing in an authoritarian state they hope will dismantle the free market? Because the "free market" inevitable leads to centralisation of economic power.
