I'm quite confused. Before he said that he identify himself as a socialist and considered himself tje first left president of the Philippines
But after reading upon him recently he seems to be strongly focused on cutting heavily down on beuraucracy, going as far as saying that he wants to "destroy government and rebuild it as a less powerful entity. He is also focused on lowering the taxes of the middle class and below and his track record has been mostly positive to free markets and small enterprises
He's basically a centrist Most of his leftist policies are neccessary for a country like Philippines like land reform, government assisted agriculture, massive tax spending on infrastructure, free state college tuition, push for 100% universal health insurance/care
But there are other more liberal(not the SJW term) like the things you mentioned and Freedom of Information which you can inquire government agencies to disclose any documents and accountancy to you
He's a bizzare mix of libertarianism and authoritarianism and I like it
Jason Turner
It's an extreme form of centrism - Philippines needs a bit of authoritarianism in some areas due to its corruption.
Does that make him -
An extreme pragmatist?
Luke Kelly
>authoritarianism in some areas
Bad idea mate. I remember the last time a tiny bit authoritarianism happened here.
Kevin Cook
Duterte's political stance is simple. Kill your enemies and don't do stupid shit. He doesn't subscribe to anything that doesn't benefit his country and its people. One wise man is worth more than a comittee of fools.
Joseph Gomez
There is clearly nationalism in there as well
Caleb Jackson
Fuck off and suck a dick, Unifag
Jaxon Scott
Duerte's stance has led to a decrease in crime. If you kill everyone, no one can commit a crime.
Carson Gonzalez
He's pretty much /ourguy/
you mean if you kill everyone related to crime there is no crime
Jose Williams
being ruthless to the scum of society =/= killing everyone
Ryan Russell
He's a blend
Luke Wilson
He seems like a breed of his own to me.
Sebastian Martinez
He's a reset button.
Give a non-corrupt capitalistic democratic country time, and in 50 to 100 years, the rich will have successfully gain control of the media and the politicians, further enriching themselves and making the poor poorer.
So a reset is needed. That's where a Duterte archetype comes in. It doesn't have to be him, but someone like him.
That's one of the flaws of capitalism. You need a reset every now and then.
Luis Brooks
the big number of the drug war casualty isn't really by his doing. there are lots of corrupt politician and police in the Philippines that when one of their hechman was caught by the authorities, the curropt don't think twice to kill them out of fear that those henchman will reveal their name.
and yeah, he a kind of guy that Sup Forums would appreciate.
Sebastian Long
Authoritarianism is good. Its been wanting to start again since the decadence of Estrada and Aquino's time in the presidency.
Jason Walker
He's a place-marker while the globalists (including Chyna, Russia et al) hurry to draft the final plan He's entertainment and tells you so He stands for nothing, is almost dead He reads the (((scripts))) gets paid and it's his chance to pay his medicals and toss something to his kids

And to think that the smoke ban in Davao is actually more strictly enforced than Singapore
Thomas King
>He reads the (((scripts))) gets paid and it's his chance to pay his medicals and toss something to his kids Have you ever seen one of his speeches? Every time he has a written speech he deviates from the script sooner or later with his own words >flag Oh okay
Ian Rogers

Gabriel Phillips
