Yes there was evidence of murders in Danzig. The corpses the Germans found were decomposing, hinting that they were murdered before the invasion.
Considering that there were only 350,000 people living in the Free City I doubt 60,000 were killed. Maybe an Arab snuck in an hit like 100-200 with a Lorry but that's all I can think of.
