Ya, about the same here. Been off soda for years now and a couple of months ago I took a sip of one since it was only thing they had out in 100 degree weather while I was working. I don't see how I use to drink 5-6 a day. Could taste the carbonation and shit, never again.

It's all about fructose and glucose ratios to be specific but it's definitely a better choice to get those vitamins and minerals from vegetables and nuts if possible. I'm a jew with grocery spending so I usually keep to a minimum of necessary meats and veggies with one random desert item because Id fucking off myself if I couldnt eat sweet food every now and again.
Used to be a raw vegan and my health deteriorated rapidly and I felt crazy as fuck. I stick to meat, cheese and veg now, feel great and have loads of energy. Life hack: treat yourself to some disgusting unhealthy food that you love once a week and it will help keep you on a regimented diet the rest of the time. Also exercise is easily as important if not more important than what you eat daily.

Our bodies still need complex sugars, but that's what fruit is for. Rule of thumb, if it's white then avoid - bread, granulated sugar, milk can be completely replaced with broccoli, rice that isn't brown. About the only thing that avoids that rule is cauliflower, which is very off white anyway.

This is not true and eating brown rice instead of white isnt any better for you, in fact its hard to absorb nutrients from and taxes your body. What do you mean by 'complex sugars' the sugar is orange juice is not any more 'complex' than then sugar in bread just because it's from fruit. The key to all of this is fiber. If your sugar to fiber ratio is off it's going to fuck up your insulin regulation. Fruit is not necessarily a healthy choice especially when you can get sugars from vegetables and complex carbohydrates both of which have fiber.
