Russia has never been fully white. Mostly only the areas west of the Ural mountains. It's literally a Eurasian country. That's why some Russians have somewhat of a mongoloid look. (i.e. high cheek bones despite being blonde and blue eyed). I'm pretty sure Putin's grandmother is Asian.
