WHAT THIS IS:
Debbie Wasserman Schultz and many other Democrat representatives employed the IT services of Pakistani-born Imran Awan, along with his family and friends. The Awan group collected over $4,000,000 in salaries from 2009-2016, significantly higher than the average House IT staffer salary.

They went under Capital Police (and later FBI) investigation when it was discovered they were suspected of accessing congressional members' computer data without their permission. They were also stealing IT equipment and funneling congressional data to an off-site server.

After this scandal broke out, many of the group fled to Pakistan or otherwise went into hiding. Capital Police found a laptop belonging to Imran inside a vacant office in the House and seized it.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz then threatened the Capital Police chief with "consequences" if he did not return the laptop to her. The FBI also seized broken wireless routers, broken hard drives, toner cartridges, and other goverment-issue equipment from Imran's house after he rented it out to a military family.

Prior to this, Imran had attempted to enter the house on multiple occasions and even threatened the family with a lawsuit if they did not return the items to him.

On 7/25, Imran was arrested by the FBI while attempting to board a flight to Qatar (which was connecting to Pakistan) on charges of bank fraud.

The Awan group is also connected to a Dr. Ali Al-Attar, an Iranian-Iraqi doctor linked to Hezbollah. Al-Attar is a current fugitive from the US living overseas.

There is so much to this story that I'm not even scratching the surface on. I'm going to dump some relevant docs, articles, and notes I've taken on it.
