Consider the following:
John Kelly was running DHS which dealt heavily with immigration. But AG Sessions has done the most to deter illegals. Naturally these two will have some competiton. Trump is mad at Sessions but cant fire him without looking bad. So obsessed with messaging, he blames Spicer and axes him which leaves an opening for Scaramucci who in turn axes Priebus.
So now Priebus is out just like Flynn and Manafort, and some worry Flynn could flip under investigation and rat out Manafort. Priebus doesn't want to get caught up in the Special Counsel investigation, so he leaks to Muller about the firing of Comey who himself was axed. After leaking, Scaramucci catches him and axes him and Sessions is worried about getting axed now because he says everyone else is getting the ax.
So Sessions deliberately tries to avoid getting axed for recusing himself by doubling down on immigration, which deliberately aggravates his competitor on immigration, Kelly. So Sessions plays dumb and this encourages Kelly to try to move up the ladder before Sessions makes him look bad and gets him axed. Kelly has Scaramucci framed so he can come in and ax Scaramucci who himself axed a ton of White House staff, unknowingly clearing the way for an airtight White House run soley by Kelly as Bannon begins to sweat again from the old rumors he was to be axed....
