As for dublin i could not tell you. Only advice i have is to go into some pubs after eight and you might hear some music. I do not think you would hear trad music in the very modern pubs though but i am not sure how it is down there in dublin.
I know for a fact in Galway you can not get away from it. They even busk on the streets often.
