> can't even pass healtchare bill

> DUDE WE CAN CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION NOW

LMOA

Even if it's a bust it would weaken the democrats 2018 election prospects.

Best case they make socialist healthcare unconstitutional

Do you understand the difference between state and federal government?

terrible, terrible idea. We need to be removing laws not adding more, fuckhead

once the convention is called you can put forward ANY amendment to change the constitution

that's a one-way trip to hate speech laws, pro-corporate rights, and related bullshit. Just say no now.

>hey, goys, you should let the garbage fuck holes in Congress rewrite the Constitution

lmao. OP listens to Kike Kevin

Democrats lack the ability to amend anything because they lack the numbers in state and federal legislatures needed to pass amendments.

Amendments also don't necessarily add laws, you can create an amendment to limit federal reach.

We need an amendment that further emphasizes that 2nd Amendment and how it unequivocally means the protection of every citizen to own firearms.

>state convention

Jesus, learn to read shareblue

Do you understand that most of our state governments and 99% of the feds are useless pieces of shit that can't even fix roads?

Hurrrr

You must be from a liberal state

Also don't even need the Feds in a state convention

You are partly correct that we don't need addition laws...however, a Constitutional Convention would be beneficial in making a balanced budget by law, and required voting ID law.

Or, perhaps, a fix for healthcare. Once and for all. State level support for eliminating Obamacare is higher than is reflected in either the US house or senate.

If we get a convention and the only thing to come out of it removal of corporate money from elections and term limits for congress, Trump is GOAT.

DO IT NOW!!!

Bump.

What is the significance of a Constitutional Convention?

What can we potentially gain from this?

Yeah just what we need, we can cut medicaid and let old widowed women who were traditional wives with no real job skills left to die. Fucking faggots.

Bump

Anything in the Constitution can be amended. All of the rights are up for grabs. The Republicans would be fools to open that door, because the Dems will mount a massive effort to repeal the 2nd, or amend it.

we can potentially gain laws which is a very bad thing. those who would trade freedom for security deserve neither. laws which may or may not provide security impinge on freedoms by their very nature. freedom once lost is almost impossible to get back

Why not abolished the Constitution all together?

Probably because they aren't completely retarded. The idea of a constitutional convention is nothing but a fantasy wet dream you all are humping each other over at the moment.

What the fuck would you even propose?
>Slaughter the illegals!
>Jail gen Z!
>Make New York City pay for all border walls!
>President 33% Approval Rating for life!
>No Health Care for anyone!
>Fuck it! No taxes either!

Even attempting to do this would be political suicide. In 2018 all of the moderates that voted for Trump just to spite Hillary would back track so hard it would fuck up the earths rotation. Don't be stupid.

socialized medicine should not exist in the first place. It puts the cost of an individuals bad decisions on others. Look at what is happening with cigarettes. there is currently an attempt to lower the nicotine content (isnt even the bad part which is the 4000 added chems) to try to save the taxpayer money on healthcare. Where will this end? it is a fact that butter and sugar are unhealthy and if consumed too much will lead to obesity. should the gov't place limits on how much fat and sugar can be in foods because it costs the taxpayer money? should all soda be diet soda? should all potato chips be reduced fat? this is where socialized medicine leads.

End birthright citizenship.

i get the sentiment but what makes you and I american citizens if being born here has nothing to do with it. Our parents being born here?

>removal of corporate money from elections
Would be in conflict with the 1st amendment though.

It's quite funny that in nearly every other country you can change the constitution just by the normal legislation.

Yeah, at least one parent has to be a citizen. Duh.

I want the Dems to repeal 2A, because that would finally kick my people in the ass hard enough to reclaim our nation. In a way I was hoping for Hillary to beat Donald last year, because eight years of nigger and four years of woman should have been enough to get the War of Southern Retribution rolling. Now we get fucked for at least 10 years before people will calm down under Trump and it'll take some hard lefty to reignite the flame.

The bigger issue is what it would represent. The very fact that you can so easily change the constitution so easily in other countries is the problem. In America, the process of Constitutional Convention is seen as a safeguard to protect the states from an out of control federal entity. The constitution is sacred and the rights it bestows are even more sacred. For republicans to call a convention with the intention of altering a single one of those rights would be interpreted by the general citizen as a massive overstepping of their bounds. There would be open rebellion, accusations of tyranny, and unwavering defiance. Especially given the current retard in chief. Not one person more sane than a moderate conservative would have any delusion that the convention was being called to protect the people's rights.

the first amendment applies to people although citizens united ruled that corporations are people which is fucking retarded. your right on a technicality but your an asshole for approving of this. to answer your next question america has patience built into the constitution to slow down capitalism. this is a good thing its the reason why our shitty lawmakers coming up with shitty ideas cant enact those shitty ideas

what about people who dont know who their parents are just left in front of a hospital and put up for adoption?

If you're white, you can be a citizen. If not, deport them somewhere.

I'm sure that'll go over so well when you float it to the liberals.

lol deport them where? what country would actually accept the baby? its already in the usa its most likely born in the usa the only mystery is the unknown parents and this is enough to kick um out? ill repeat myself in saying i dont approve of anchor babies however it would be tricky to write a law banning them

Seems to be a good idea.

The Anglo countries have common law, so you don't have that many laws as our European countries at all. E. G. the right for asylum is in our constitution, but as far as I know not in your. So the change of our constitution in 1992 to limit the right for asylum was at least not the worst idea.

I was only wondering how the Supreme Court would decide if the constitution is contradictory.

Most countries don't have birthright citizenship.

Boohoo.

Put them on a boat and kick them into international waters.

lol i guess. kick out the most likely american abandoned orphan babies along with anchor babies. america fuck yea?

>roads
Watch the nouns

Nonwhites aren't americans.

>what is the 21st amendment
amendments can repeal laws/regulations

On the contrary, Republicans would be very wise to amend the Constitution, at least in such a way that makes immigration more restrictive. Republicans will always hold a high number of state legislatures due to a resilient base that always votes in midterms and a strong presence in rural states. The 2A is not going to disappear as Democrats won't ever have a state-based supermajority.

>nonwhites aren't americans
what is hawaii?

A colony that mistakenly became a state.

lol we needed um to have a nice even 50 though would you rather the puerto ricans?

Nah all of you southern fucks are pussies and only about 1% of the people who say they will fight the government actually will.

You realize that there have been tons of constitutional amendments in the past, right?

>radify

Cucks like McCain

I have a form of autism that compels me to correct you about this. It is NOT a constitutional convention, which is a convention assembled to ratify a whole new convention. What you're talking about is a convention of states, in which state reps ratify amendments to the existing constitution.

a good place for missile defenses and air/naval bases

>What is stopping Republicans from starting a Constitutional Convention on the state level?

Getting 3/3 of republicans to all agree and vote yes.

*whole new constitution

>what is hawaii?
The reason we lost WW2.

Realistically, they could amend the 2nd Amendment to remove the "well-regulated militia" part and make it crystal clear that regulations on arms are unconstitutional. They could also realistically propose an amendment for requiring a balanced national budget or making abortion illegal. There's lots of things they could propose, Rabbi, you just have to think about it a little

>Term Limits For Congress to reduce corruption.
>Requirements to balance the budget, or operate at a small surplus.
>Ban on Central Banks (Federal Reserve)
>Ban on the Federal Government from delivering social programs (and experiments).
>Formally outline what land the Feds can own (return 1/3 of the landmass to the states).
>Repeal of the 17th Amendment, giving state legislatures the power to appoint their Senators.
>Stronger checks against the Judiciary. Simple vote in Congress overturns a Supreme Court ruling.
>Defining limits on regulations - ie no more "All water in the US is owned by us Feds" crap.
>Balance Federal and State power by allowing State legislatures to repeal Federal Laws.

Lots of stuff can be done.

But republican policies cause more abortions why would (((they))) out law it?

If they repealed the 19th amendment it wouldn't matter if it was political suicide

Because the communists get to throw shit in there too.

...

We need to make people aware of Council of State Governments - globalist/Soros - and how it's taking over everything in the states. Must be stopped.

It's ratified you fucking moron, and it's 3/4, or 38 states, so 33 would not cut it.

seriously I'm going to reply to my post 3 more fucking times until you confirm how retarded you fucking are OP. fuck it - i'll just post a chick and that will get you to respond.

the devil hates you

Based black man DESTROYS democratic party. Delusional democrats blame "gerrymandering"

BASED black man

obama best president confirmed

most experts don't believe republicans have a valid reason to call a convention. what they wanna do is get a constitutional amendment to balance the budget while blaming the problem on the poor and entitlements.

they wanna gamble with your social security money

these are the same yahoos that yammer on and on about you money is yours and the government has no right to take it. apparently wall-street does

The Constitution DOES NOT ADD laws, it limits the power of the federal government.
Amendments are kind of negative laws, they state what inalienable rights citizens have, overruling any other laws that the gov may pass at some point in the future.

I asked one of them what they wanted to accomplish and all he could do is tell me about article 5 and procedure

who's gonna create these ironclad limitations the congress is to spineless to do?

stop congress from wasting our money?
on give aways to the rich?
wars of choice?
bank failures?

>what is stopping Republicants

***clears throat***

send career politicians packing?
isn't that what voting is for?
seems a little anti democratic to limit choices

return power to the states?
states rights? really? pre 1787 states rights

We could repeal the 14th and put an end to anchor babies once and for all.

what they really wanna do is repeal fdr's legacy

they don't want the population to have any security at all.
ppl should live their lives in fear and one paycheck away from homelessness and hunger

but other than that republicans don't do social engineering

>The Constitution DOES NOT ADD laws, it limits the power of the federal government.
oh, you mean like the 18th amendment, prohibition of alcohol?

Trump made several statements that New Deal welfare is sacrosanct.

he said he'd fix health care and make it better too.
he has a plan to wipe out isis in 30 days
trump said a lot of things

Don't know if any of you are aware, but 12 states are already on board.

>12 on board, 22 to go

Write (on paper, not email) to your reps and senators if not in one of those 12 states.

> 9 passed in one chamber
>22 others have active legislation this year

these people are ideological zealots, they believe so strongly that they're right about everything they wanna do the 1920s over.

they're willing to risk everything the majority has fought for in the last 100 years

12 poor southern republican wanna fuck the ppl like themselves. couldn't they just pass a state law that fucks themselves over?

>need 2/3 of states to radify new amendment

Fuck yeah.

12 poor southern republican states wanna fuck the ppl like themselves. couldn't they just pass a state law that fucks themselves over?

>12 poor southern republican
>leaf, degens up north
Alaska, North Dakota, Indiana south of Canada, but not southern US
Blue states passed one chamber: WA, OR, CA, MN, IL, VA, MD, DE, NY, etc.
Learn to read.
>Plus
Why the fuck do you care in Canada?
Sry, not getting your (YOU) from me, shill

southern hillbillies have convinced each other that their next door neighbors are living too high on the hog

>southern hillbillies
Alaska, ND, Indiana

I'll take peolpe who can't read and don't know geography for 500, Alex.
>What are Canadians?

Keep bumping for me, shill

CA, NY? wow wtf happened? last one I heard about was wv a few months ago

Happy to note when I misspeak.

I meant active legislation, not passed one chamber.

NM, NH and VA are only blue states to have it pass one chamber so far.

My bad. My point is that blue states are also looking into this.
