I think it is. Beauty proves it.
no it isnt end of story
It depends, several people have different opinions on what morality is.
I don't want to live in your reality
...
From a religious point of view, yes. God dictated what is moral and whats not.
Apart from that, no. Morality is a social construct, like laws and any other Human convention. Each and every culture develops a particular set of moral rules, based on its experience, and enforces it throughout laws and customs. The only scrap of "objectivity" they have is that most of them share some traits, like the condemnation of homicide.
im sorry but u do
If we define morality as what leads to the most happiness and longevity for a person then yes, there are objectively answers to what can lead to that.
However if you use a formal definition of morality you can't get an objective answer because there is no answer because it's a metaphysical concept. You have to give a definition of what is good, but when you do you come to an objective answer.
Can't be assed proving it, better I kill you and your family.....
is that his ballsack on his right leg, and if so, does he have a medical condition
God is a result of our social constructed morals not the other way around
that's the religious point of view, man. According to them, our morality was given by God. For an atheist, it's the other way around of course. Just a matter of faith.
Wrong.
God designed us with an intrinsic knowledge of morality which serves as the foundation of our societies.
It is the pattern on the sofa that looks like a scrotum.
t b h a preset morality cant exist because morality itself dosent exist if u really think bout it
tell me is it possible to measure/judge/determine/ morals in any way? at least any scientific way that dosent devolve into new-age psychological shit?
no because morals quite literall dont exist morals onl exist to people because those people believe morals exist
i dont say this because of any pessimistic stuff but because of realism because "objective morals" and "morals" themselves quite literally dont exist
>that unintentional spacing
>Scrotum fabric patterns
My sides!
Any question this open ended is just gonna turn into a shitstorm if you don't get specific with the semantics first like pointed out. So before I make a claim, I'll hammer out what abstract notion I understand morality to be.
I believe morality is primarily a mechanism by which culture maintains social order. That is, morals are rules of thumb that a culture's constituent individuals can fall back on that will generally keep their society running smoothly.
By this definition, I argue that morals are fairly absolute with respect to the society they developed to assist and within the same environment that the society developed in.
However, I also argue that morals are relative in an absolute sense on the grounds that different cultures can hold vastly different moral practices and still function. This is possible because the mechanisms of each society grew up in tandem with their own moral system and are suited to help that society operate in its native environment. Trying to apply the same morals to a different culture or in a different environment often leads to problems.
Molyneux isn't a philosopher.

1. God exists
2. Ergo, objective morality exist
yes but people aren't so they have to contend with that
>god exists
id just love to see proof of that t b h?
Good point, sad that noone answered you. I wanted to see an actual discussion here instead of shitpost.
Some people think it's perfectly OK working for the government
Various arguments. See the ontological argument or cosmological argument.
Define philosopher
Objective morality is based on subjectivity. Experience is only held by living things, and living things all have desire, specifically the desire to live. Thwarting the attempt of life to thrive is therefore the basis of objective morality unless doing so helps other life thrive in a fashion that is much greater, e.g. we eat eggs to be healthy even though the chickens probably don't like that.
