College/University Thread

What college do you attend?

What is the situation in your uni with regard to left wing bias in the curriculum and left wing predominance in university societies?

In my university both student newspapers and both debating societies are filled with insufferable amounts of leftism. It would be nice to see some parallel societies or newspapers being founded, but there isn't a large enough volume of even milquetoast conservatives for that to happen.

I go to Maynooth myself.

You can definitely see the leftism here, but people tend to be more laid back than in dublin.

The debate club will have actual debates of right/left issues, even if they don't agree with it.

That's because a conservative sees education as a tool for creating a better life, while a liberal strives for the state to provide them with a better life so that they can stay in the educational (or any other governmental) system for as long as they see fit.

Needless to say, these differences in viewpoints mean that one crowd is destined to be less active in non-course related activities (those who wish to better their lot economically and even return to the ancestral homeland) while those who simply wish to influence the local area government further then their vote justifies seek to ensure that only their views can percolate through the minds of others, who absorb or reject them passively as they don't consider a fight worth their time or effort.

PS. No parallel paper will be formed as without funding (and therefore official approval, which would balk at ANYTHING that dares to question their image) they can't pay for paper or the inevitable littering or loitering fines.

>The debate club will have actual debates of right/left issues, even if they don't agree with it.

The right wing position tends to be argued as a devil's advocate.

In fairness, if they didn't how could they ensure that the social studies department gets to play architect with people's lives like they claimed the church did?

fuck off back to foxrock seánín

American University in DC. If any white nationalists go there, please tell me. Its a fucking liberals paradise there. I dont think ill last 4 years alone

Actually from near to Foxrock lol

Ah here not all of trinity is filled with insufferable twats from south county dublin.

Sometimes lads from the country are sent there because they are too big of twats to blend in anywhere except the centre of a city

Americans: are there community colleges that offer bachelors' degrees?

Florida. Fucking hate Gainesville. Full of niggers, old hippies, homeless and faggot SJW students crying about the latest din du who got shot by cops. Only thing I like really about the area is working out at The Swamp.

University of Birmingham.

Kill me right now

i got admitted to yale because i put in "african" on my application even though i'm only half moroccan lol
2.8 gpa btw

>Ah here not all of trinity is filled with insufferable twats from south county dublin.

I'm sorry but all this hatred of people from middle class areas in Dublin is completely based out of spite.

This can't be real.

Bullshit, I'm actually black and couldn't get in with a 3.5 GPA (3.9 weighted) and 33 ACT

I'm taking some online courses through some college in Ohio. I have no idea of their political bias but I'm keeping centrist anyways. So far no problems

Not spite my friend.

Just garden variety contempt.

Contempt for a collection of idiots that cost us six counties and over sixty years of governmental disasters (children;s shoes being the funniest) so they could LARP in a post office which then was FUCKING SHELLED and left for dead once it went on fire. Contempt for idiots willing to cause a civil war over their own personal honour to the extent where a decade of agriculture was traded for the right to refuse to sell fuel in three shitty ports.

Contempt for people who insist that the country be unchanged from the Georgian Era except for the road system needed to move the people needed to keep a decaying shithole prosperous at all costs.

DESU the country would be better off if sellafield an heroed and took ye and the ballyshitholes down with it.

He meant that his GPA in Yale is 2.8.

No wonder you couldn't get in lol.

Nice, my school has an exchange program with yours, I go to SUNY Brockport in New York

History major year, a ton of ultra-left shit. Angela Davis, a commie black panther and terrorist sympathizer, was even invited on campus to speak, it's that bad.

That's disgusting. The worst we had was the socialist society inviting BLM leaders over.

That's a shitty GPA

I can't believe you're blaming the civil war and our protectionist economic policies on middle class Dublin people. Do you want to know where the hotbed of IRA activity was? It was West Cork! Not Ballsbridge.

And our economic policies were dictated by country bumkin retards so we could protect Irish farmers at the expense of everybody else. It had nothing to do with D4s Jesus Christ.

Let's just say it's a STEM based school. I'm not going to contribute more than that to your datamining.

>33 ACT
Are you actually Black?

Are you an African immigrant?

I go to Texas Tech

I really like it here, while SJW's still exist they're not as annoying and hostile than in other universities. Free Speech and and Libertarian values are highly supported by most people here.

But overall it's not that politically active over here, which is great. Nobody wants some activist to shove shit down your throat.

I went to University of Memphis for my Bachelors. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be although like all universities it has the bullshit. Haven't decided where I'll go for my grad school.

Typical Dub, palming off your dirty washing on the TRUE capital (Hint: it's not the place with the great metal spike stuck in the middle of it)

How in the name of god did the economic war help the farmers again?
Or the milk quotas agreed to so dublin politicians could fund mad giveaways like the per cent scheme

I must have missed that bit of propaganda from dublin.

i'm a humanities guy
i'm gonna study economic policy
did i choose right?

I'm currently attending the ASU Tempe Campus. The leftists are growing here. I was once dragged to a Young Democrats meeting and it was horrible. Some bitch kept talking about how she was on the right side of history and they also talked about how through demographics changing they would win. Oh and they snap their fingers instead of clapping surprising. My English teacher also went on about how diversity is great and made us watch Beyonce, BLM, & Fat Acceptance videos.

Dublin has always had less electoral power than the rest of the country due to the fact that the rest of the country has more of the population and therefore more seats in the Dáil. There is no way that Dubliners, let alone privileged Dubliners were able to dictate economic policy to the extent you think they did.

And yes part of the motivation for our protectionism was to protect farmers. Read about Dev's vision of autarky.

Is that you Leo?

yeah it's me

Ha :)

DIT Bolton Street....they're all blind cunts. There's even talk of bringing in "safe spaces" to the college. Just kill me now and get it over with please

Transferring to University of San Deigo, start classes in a month.

It's a very expensive private Catholic college. I have the GI Bill so it covers it. I thought I'd be able to dodge the 'muh diversity' type stuff here but no, gotta take two classes worth of just that shit anyway! Among the other usual cuck education too. Maybe the State of California still requires they have these classes.

Genuinely going to try to find wife material while I am here. The girls that go here are pretty in an untouched kind of way. They come from wealthy families and seem very well mannered, unlike the street rabble at every public college. Gonna look into getting in an upper-crust frat (not a party centric one) and join the rowing team.

The campus is absolutely gorgeous

>There's even talk of bringing in "safe spaces" to the college.
In DIT? For what? It's not exactly a hotbed of right wing activism.

I attend UW Seattle but I'm in a medical program. I've only had problems when I had to take the mandatory diversity stuff.

Saw these things hanging up yesterday when I had to pick something up in a humanities building.

I know :(
I'm half-black, as in African-American (not an immigrant).

Right because a substanial minority that lives as close as you can get to the seat of power and idle cash just lying around could have zero influence on the decisions of said power.

Especially with empire contacts left over from the occupation (ever hear of the Raj?).

Where do you trade deals with the continent were carried out? Conermara? Cong island?

How do coal tariffs protect farmers?

Sure turf was mainly for personal use back then as opposed to a critical industry and forestry can't be scaled up easily to peaks and falls in heating demand.

So why would they raise tariffs on fuel for protectionist reasons as opposed to national ego reasons to reassure a crowd of easily led morons who have walked us into every crisis we've ever had.

Heck the only reason the english invaded is BECAUSE YOU DUBLIN TWATS INVITED THEM IN AFTER YERE KING STOLE SOME BITCH AND COULDN'T HOLD HIS TURF TOGETHER.

AND THE ONLY REASON THEY ARRIVED IS BECAUSE HE WHORED HIS DAUGHTER OUT TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. WHO THEN GAVE UP HIS PRIZE LIKE A BITCH TO GAIN BACK HIS LAND STOLEN BY THE ENGLISH KING BECAUSE HE WAS A SHIT FIGHTER.

Nah, I'm not Leo

>Not exactly a hotbed of right wing activism
You got that right. Genuinely, I see it as a case of monkey see, monkey do. The lefties see American colleges that have them and wonder why we don't. All of a sudden everyone's a racist, sexist etc... and they demand safe spaces and transgender bathrooms. I have yet to actually see a transgender in the college.

Oh, and Muslims get to openly cheat on exams and are given all past papers with solutions. As they have to pay full fee's, not the €4k or whatever it is for us, the college turn a blind eye. A muslim girl sitting right onfront of me in our materials exam during summer was caught cheating...2 days later and she's in the next exam. An Irish lad was caught a few years ago, he was only allowed back into the college last year

I go to Queens up in Belfast. It's getting more insufferable. I think I joined at the worst time. Leo was up visiting and three SU officers were wearing them repeal jumpers. Cunts.

Lycoming in central Pa. I hate the place, but I only have one more semester. I regret going there as a whole

>Oh, and Muslims get to openly cheat on exams and are given all past papers with solutions. As they have to pay full fee's, not the €4k or whatever it is for us, the college turn a blind eye. This can't be real.

Mississippi state

Had some climate change stuff thrown at me by a couple different professors but otherwise it was apolitical

I took my humanities at a community college that didn't pander to any leftist drivel either

You seem to be overestimating the power that a small group of people in Dublin could have had over economic policy. They had 4-5 seats in the Dáil depending on how you look at it.

The rest of the country had the remaining ~150.

The fact that trade deals may have been carried out in Dublin doesn't mean people from outside of Dublin couldn't have either influenced them or involved in negotiations (ever heard of the car?).

Can we make this thread about college again while you take your mick shitposting elsewhere?

Oh you'd better believe it's real and it'll only get worse imo, until something happens.

Didn't go to Queens, but been up to botanic/QFT enough times and the student union 'blod of de whid man hall' for a gig once to get an adequate sense of the knobbery that would exist on campus.

University of Sussex
Brighton
No more needs to be said

>take your mick shitposting elsewhere?

Far better than most of the posting on Sup Forums these days.

You nigger. Will you be my bf?

I don't think that shit would ever happen at trinity. But I think if they're foreign non-EU Muslim students they pay closer to €10k/year, so I can see why the college wants to retain them as students.

>I'm half-black
Well that explains it.

Attended The Ohio State University

Graduated in 2011.

Apparently it's just as bad as most Universities in the States these days which makes me sad.

I will forever bleed Scarlet and Gray.

O-H

We have our own gang symbol that is similar to the 'racist' okay hand sign

a small group of people with the contacts list for world trade, international diplomacy, ALL of the national media under their command (no local radio until the 1980's) and fingers in the local newspapers that weren't officially under Dublin's thumb.

But it's not just the five men you elect, it's the 20-40 for the city ye hedge on both sides of everything that ye control by claiming they are so "civilised" despite the fact that TB was so bad we got aid from the marshall plan to fix yere shit.

We could have built a second ardnacrusha but instead we spent on stopping Deano from drinking puddle water.

sure we had cars (and even buses when ye fuckers weren't on strike so long that the army had to stop playing busmen) but there's only so much that can be accomplished by yelling at a door closed in the face far from the action.

In fairness, it's not like ye sold us for organ meat so thanks for not doing that, oh mighty foxrock man /s/ .

You just keep bringing up irrelevant things.

>a small group of people with the contacts list for world trade, international diplomacy

These were as much in the hands of the boggers involved in party politics as it was in the hands of D4s

Its Less bad than Oxford where most of the loony humanities students go

All the societies and newspapers are dominated by Liberals and feminists. You are tolerated so long as you don't cause a big stir.
Everyone assumes you voted Remain and Hate trump.

My subject ASNAC is full of SJW xe xim types

All the ones who are smart and driven with a leftist axe to grind end up at high end unis like this

so humanities are always cancer at high end unis cos the professors want to change culture etc

Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic studies is full of xe/xim types? But isn't that so colonial?

Like people in Washington control the US as a whole, but that doesn't mean that the people who were born and raised in DC half a century ago control the entire country.

Boston University

pls help

UC Davis is the only UC worth going to

Just it end already

Right because obviously a man from offaly instantly knows how to disguise garlic as apples as soon as he places the order with china (who can of course easily deliver to offaly as opposed to say a massive port on the way to liverpool)

Talk about getting an easy penalty and thinking you struggled hard for the shot as opposed to just falling in a lucky way.

of course, sure anything that makes the mighty dublin look bad is clearly irrelevant.

Say, when you lot are pawning the country off again over some tart, can I buy donegal? I'll bid three fish (not the salmon though, maybe something like plaice or haddock) and whatever's stuck in the fridge after i've cleaned it out (sure isn't that more than ye got for them last time, eh?)

Preston...

>What college do you attend?

Worcester State University

>What is the situation in your uni with regard to left wing bias in the curriculum and left wing predominance in university societies?

Clearly a leftist campus, on election day (as in, the next morning) we got an email about a safe space to discuss shit or whatever and apparently half the campus was out. I was out too but that's mainly cuz i was up till like 4am waiting for the victory speech. Socialist alternative posters everywhere, muh diversity etc.

On the other hand we had some BASED BLACK DUDES and BASED MAGAPEDES doing a miniature Trump rally on campus on some of the voting days which was pretty cool.

At least since a lot of people go here for the sciences many don't really give a fuck. It's not nearly as bad as Amherst College or some of the private MA schools known for humanities and stuff.

Are Berkeley and LA not good universities anymore? Or is it just that the leftism outweighs any educational strengths they have?

University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Looks comfy though.

Just get an umbrella and a have a warmed towel at home ready for your return.
>>see no need to colonize anything now.

Gainsville is a nice place if you can get past the poor niggers. Cool places to drink at too. I can only imagine how degenerate some of the people are there though

Crappiest logo, less sjw uni in Argentina.

>CIT
Some left wing bias in the STEM department. Imagine it's worse in the humanities department.

Yeah, it's okay. I love what I do. The area surrounding sucks though. It does also rain constantly too.

>Some left wing bias in the STEM department.

How do they force it into stem courses? I do mathematics and haven't encountered any left wing bias at all.

Idk about LA, but at Berkeley every student is required to an (((American Culturers))) requirement, which are basically Anti white Marxist seminars that punish any bad goys

Situation depends on what your major is. I was a STEM major so I didn't really see a whole lot of sjw shenanigans. I'm sure humanities are cucked as all get out.

Got a B.S. in Comp Sci at Ole Miss.

>What is the situation in your uni with regard to left wing bias in the curriculum and left wing predominance in university societies?
Its the deep south, so liberals are in the minority. Fraternity formals are held at a plantation house not far from campus. One of the fraternities also has a formal where they wear old confederate uniforms instead of a suit. We have a statue on campus dedicated to the first black student on campus, and one year a few guys put a noose around the statues neck and draped it in the confederate (or maybe georgia?) flag.

The list goes on. Was a great place to go to school, if you just wanted to party and enjoy your life.

>Cool places to drink at too
Theres a few. Too bad Cantina shut down, so much freshman pussy
>I can only imagine how degenerate some of the people are there though
It's odd. Walking around Publix near campus and it's a fucking freak show. The Luckys Market is even worse.

Hey I know a guy who goes to the medical school there. He is an absolute cuck. He left this country and isn't going to come back because of Trump. Utter fucking faggot. If you meet a tall, scrawny American guy from Maryland, that's him.

They're fantastic universities, if you're simply looking to get hired afterward and don't really care about education quality or leftism. Seeing a degree from Berkeley or LA on the resumé will still make an employer's mouth water a bit. But if you do care about the quality, it becomes almost unbearable. I did a few visits to UCLA before deciding on Davis, and I knew I wouldn't be able to stand it. (I'm a history major because I want to teach, and their history courses were devoid of real history in favor of things like "Queer Voices in the American Civil War".)

Davis is world-renowned for its Ag and Bio science stuff, and Ag folks are typically a bit more conservative. The leftism on campus is much more tolerable. Plus, Davis is comfy

Some of the lecturer's like to go off topic and discuss politics. Another reason why I barely attend lectures.

I work at a Publix in downtown Orlando. I relate too much.

>I work at a Publix
Thank you for your service, user.

...

The argument "I am a woman and I want to go anywhere at any time without worrying about my safety" is such a retarded meme.
Those places that they want to go alone without worry are places that men would not be alone because they know bad shit happens there.

Do STEM and you'll probs be okay. Don't dare enter the fucking Arts building if you don't want to be triggered by leftism

>ctrl+f
>debt
>no results
C'mon now...

1. Small liberal arts college in Mid-Atlantic region
2. The curriculum is pretty balanced (I don't get why people say college is full of communists), but public opinion on campus is pretty liberal. I know some conservatives but they're not that common.

Check out Oregon Tech, IIRC they have bachelors degrees for CC prices.

Right now I am studying Nutrition and Health at University of Arizona, I have connections at UofA Pharmacy and should end up with a pretty nice job. My interest is in creating nootropics or maybe just new supplements before someone calls me a faggot for studying Nutrition, I have a method to my madness.

The downfall of AZ has been heartbreaking to watch. We could only fight the Mexifornian hordes for so long. Now we have the two most cancerous politicians Flake and McCain and SJW campuses, even UofA has SJW madness.

Caltech here.
Most people here (at least the guys) don't express political opinions often. The political leanings of the institute and its students are predominantly left-wing, however. There is a small conservative club here, but it was labeled racist, and was forced out of its usual meeting place as a result.

Maynooth : Employs Pic Related, who is currently lobbying the Irish government to have "WE WUZ KANGZ" replace a portion of the history curriculum in Irish schools to facilitate African Students.

Also, Trinity and NCAD are Marxist basketcases, on both student attitude and policy. Both should be nuked.

UCD and NUIG are both pretty traditional Irish in the majority of their student views, but Student Politics has been hijacked by Leftists.

Hopefully that reborn Christtian anti-abortionist who's the new UCDSU President shakes things up those.

UL/DCU are meme tier, I don't know if they take a break from drinking and hurling to care about politics.

Syracuse
Go Orangemen!

>He meant that his GPA in Yale is 2.8.
He means he's a larping homosexual and that he enjoys pretending to be an imaginary person while on the Internet.

Yale graduate here. Nothing like walking into the display section of the Beinecke after getting a coffee from Blue State on Wall.

>Your average CIT student

Are you really that triggered about some minor political commentary? I remember profs joking about Trump and Brexit but nobody minded them
