Should I join the US military?

I've been studying history and politics for a few years and recently I've come into a newfound appreciation for the experiment that became our country. I've toyed with the idea of joining the military (specifically the navy). I figure if I join now I'll be ready to serve in the upcoming Korean conflict where I can distinguish myself.

Upsides:
- Lots of free technical training. Already taken the ASVAB so I'm certain I could secure an advanced job and be trained for it.
- Get to join the great tradition of becoming a warrior. I have a profound respect for the art of war and those who practiced it well throughout history.
- Get to defend the people of the US. Even with all of our problems I would gladly fight and die for what we've forged today. You may hate liberals or conservatives but the fact that such polar opposite groups can coexist in society without breaking out into another civil war means we're doing SOMETHING right in terms of a government that ultimately submits its people.
- World is probably going to end in a nuclear holocaust in the next 50 years anyway as Nuclear proliferation starts so might as well kill some commies while I have the chance.

Downsides
- Going to be enforcing the imperialist wishes of businessmen sometimes (usually).
- Have to find a sweet spot of learning to take orders but not over analyze certain things as it will only make my time harder.
- Could possibly die. I'm not afraid of death but I'm not exactly ready to die either. I am honestly curious what's on the other side but a little scared of the loss of potential.
- Would probably have to spend decades in it to get to anywhere notable. I'm open to spending at least a decade in the career but I'd like to transition into something like a military advisor in some capacity. (Not to the president or anything, but to maybe an international group like the UN or NATO.)

Should I do this? Am I missing anything?

>1:43

gonna have to sum that up for me bud

>going to fight for israel
join a local militia instead

I don't think you're supposed to put this much thought into it. Just do it faggot, or don't.

...

I guess the Coast Guard is probably the safest bet but like I said in the OP I'm interested in participating in the upcoming conflict on the korean peninsula and the most likely to do that are marines and navy. I don't think I have the fortitude to be a Marine honestly but I could definitely participate through advanced work like mechanics.

No.

You are so fucking naive m8. like 90% of military members never see combat and many are out of shape. Some are no better than welfare queens.

If you are not sure, join the reserves for a year or so, if you like it join the regular army.

do NOT enlist
get a 2 year bachelor's degree in liberal arts or anything and become an officer
enlisted life is pain

I already have a BA in History/Poli Sci. Finishing up my masters in government this year. I don't think any of these degrees would translate to more than 2 or 3 paygrade promotions. It seems like the military grows all their command staff in house at military academies and ROTC installments at uni's. Very hard to come in as an officer if you didn't go to one.

What's wrong with the marines?

what languages do you speak?

Literally one of the most important points in this thread.

He's probably mad that the Marine recruiter turned him down for being a pussy lmao, there's a reason they don't need sign-on bonuses, deep down every man wants to wear that uniform

>Marine recruiter turned him down

Hahaha what? Marine recruiters are the most active and desperate to get recruits. They love their job. They don't "turn people down" for "being a pussy". They do everything they can to convince you that the only thing stopping you from being a marine is you, and the corps teaches you to overcome that. You're a fucking clown and don't know what you're talking about.

If you get disabled because you threw yourself into the grinder for some Jewish interest don't get salty when your people don't apprechiate it.
No worse scum than entitled vets.

I've already been in, not worth the trouble. Even the GI Bill is becoming less worth it because how high tuition is going around the country. The military is all honor and glory either. The only time you'll look back on fondly is basic (and AIT is you're a combat MOS) because the sense of accomplishment you get. Seriously, don't fucking bother.

if you want to be in the Navy I say go Seabees or CB, you will be close enough to kill commies but will still learn a trade

isn't I meant OP

Honestly you sound like a pussy; if you pursue this path, your only real option would be the Air Force.

Love the marines, but they tend to not be very smart

I'm in the airforce. Linguist. It's a stressful life for not a lot of money but no living costs so it's whatever.

Smart in ways you're not smart, you mean.

>Linguist
How do they make sure that you spy on Pyongyang and not for them?

Well I got my top TS/SCI and after that they just have to trust me.

Just going off stereotype friend

I joined the British Army with absolutely zero qualifications and managed to blag my way into a technical role after 4 years i left, now i work for a Defence company making bank.

Don't join Infantry.

yeah, go be mafioso to kike bankers you mong burger

Yes. Go to the air force. Travel the world. Leave with 20-30K if you save. GI bill towards a stem degree. Veteran.

If my 18yr self had balls I've done it.

Was thinking about joining the RMP, Do you know if they do much on the day to day or is it just dealing with drunk soldiers at the weekends then stolen shite during the weekdays ?

I'm more interested in the student loan forgiveness wish is still firmly in place.

lol navy and marines.

go army. 11B.

crayon eaters and most of the historical events they pride themselves on were Army run desu senpai imo

its trye, theyll call you over and over until you tell them you joined another branch. then they call you a pussy

That's not "turning someone down". Which is what he said they do (they dont, not for being "weak" at least)

...

...

>being in the US military and actually being in combat

2007 called. They want their current affairs back.

I just wish more of you yahoos would join and die for corporation and empire.
I figure if we could cull the herd a little more often wages might go up and stupidity will be reduced

>wanting to fight for the jewish deep state
kys

>tfw U.S military recruiters shill on Sup Forums

soon as they're done watering the corn they're coming to take away your way of life

on the one hand they are poor unfortunate slaves of communism.
on the other hand you and jesus feel a need to kill them for it

Go get some, brother.

(I'll tell you another thing, too. Getting in the military is a good way to get a security clearance, which in turn can lead to a high paying job. Try to learn IT while in the Army - that is, if you're not going full, gonzo infantry. If so, try for the most elite division in which you can qualify.)

And, thank you.

not in my name bitch
the only reason we can still have these wars is because barbarians are willing to fight them

>leaf

STRONGLY recommend going IS if you can; life is relatively easy(super easy if you are a airwing IS) and advancement is steady

I speak Russian, French and a little bit of Serbian. What is your arnswer for me?

can you talk more about this? I would consider something similar

I can see it now, thing don't go as easily as we were told. next thing we know nato has to come in to save the world from 3rd world tyranny

You should seriously consider suicide

>Should I join the US military?
if you want to die for god's chosen people goy

don't forget korea didn't attack another country in 1950. it was an internal fight.

Are you a woman or a tranny? Then no. Otherwise? Yeah, sure, why not

Being a 20 year man in the Navy then retiring seems ideal in this day and age. Especially if you can end up with a cool job like intelligence or something. I'd do it in a second if weren't dq.

no matter what you see in our news media china and russia will never allow best korea to fall

Name 1 war of aggression the US has fought in since ww2
Hard mode: no jackie chan 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5

holy fuck are you kidding?

nope

Dude jarheads are constantly self deprecating about their intelligence to the extreme between themselves. Especially now that its a spic gang.

US Vet here, Army `87-`95.
The military is a good life, you can really make the most of it. What's best with the military is all the health and social benefits you'll receive for life afterwards, with honorable discharge of course.

ok how about syria?

I said WAR of agression. We are not at war with syria. Arming rebels and launching a few airstrikes is not a war.

why is turkey so angry all the time?
This is a serious question.
All the time. It is like they exist to hate everyone in the west, like they were gypped out of something we have or something.

yes it is

A crime against peace, in international law, is "planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of wars of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances, or participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the foregoing

>planning, preparation, initiation

youtube.com/watch?v=9RC1Mepk_Sw

If you're going to be a U.S. Navy SEAL I say go for it. Otherwise, forget it.

Holy fuck you're retarded

or he could come back in a pine box or come back horrifically injured and maimed.

I would totally love to be in the US Forces and play with all your cool shit

participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment

>planning, preparation, initiation, or waging wars of agression
>war in violation of international treaties
>participation in a common plan or conspiracy for any of the following
We are not involved in any wars of agression in syria. We have no plans of conquest of the country.
>participation in a plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment
You realize that the "accomplishment" would be a war of conquest, right? Which the US has no plans for in syria?

Or don't fight Jewish wars and survive the coming conflicts and distinguish yourself as a competent self made man without PTSD or some other life changing injury. There are better was to serve your country.

you really are retarded

It's that Dress Blues meme. Not every man has what it takes to be part of the Elite.

Dress Blues will get you pussy.

I'm sure he already knows that.

Go Army Special Forces or Ranger Batt. Literally everything else is gay af.
t. Army guy who hurt himself and never got to do anything cool in 6 years.

Rangers would be cool. You'd definitely see combat.

Get that guaranteed option to join the 75th Ranger regiment OP.

I do respect the 75th Ranger Regiment. They are elite.

5 year USMC 0311

If you go into the military. Join the infantry. Be a member of a Fire Team or Squad. If you want to make a difference you come into the nitty gritty and you interact with the enemy. Your honor will dictate how those people tell their war stories. Your interactions with the locals will dictate geopolitics. And most importantly you pull the reigns back on anyone who is out there next to you doing the wrong thing.

If Taliban or whoever sees you kicking a little kid, you're fucked. If you hand out candy when you take routes through populated places, it makes anyone who attacks you the bad guy.

But most importantly above all else: you learn how our country works. After your time in the shit, you'll pay attention to what Senator sends us on a Jewish mission on the news. Then you can watch and understand and change people's minds back home about obeying Zionist orders.

>i get to fight for the nation

>but i dont want to fight for empire!

You're a fucking faggot

thenation.com/article/how-specialist-town-lost-his-benefits/

...

You couldn't possibly come off as more of a faggot, even if you tried.
Maybe the military could get rid of that shitty attitude of yours.

if you can't win in the courts

Heard you guys are weirdos

you probably wont actually go into combat unless your marines or special forces

You and OP sound like fags. You WANT to get involved in a war in Korea? Odds are if you're involved in anything it'll be the (((War on Terror))). Even if there is a Korean War the USA will mostly be providing air and logistics support. The ROK will be putting 90% of the boots on the ground. "I'm interested in participating in the upcoming conflict on the korean peninsula" is the most COD-inspired mouthbreather thing I've ever heard. If you actually have a decent history degree (which I'm doubting at this point) you should know that wars are never what you think they are and if you got killed in a war in Korea you wouldn't be "interested" in anything. You'd be fucking dead. Join because you want to serve. Join because you want to help people. Don't join because you want to LARP as the savior of azn qts in a war that if you really "participate" in you'll either be dead or see such horrible things you'll be fucked up for life.

Anyone who has to ask "Should I join the military"? Should not join the military.

watch jarhead and decide for yourself

Sounds perfect.
cant wait.

Oldfag here. Enlisted in the army in 1981 with a GED. Left 9 yrs later with a BS, A&P and Pilot's license. Got hired before my ETS and even got a 6 month drop. My oldest just graduated from the Naval Academy. I'd probably be dead or in jail like everyone else I grew up with if it wasn't for Uncle Sugar.

Wtf is that gun

Would you recommend SF? I'd think that although the missions would be more dangerous, they'd be in more controlled situations, if you know what I mean. Like cutting out the random patrols, and shit like that.
Maybe stuff that makes more of a difference too.

i want to but i cant get past the problem that our conflicts are more based on special interests than national interests. there's a disturbing irony of our heroes dying for causes that doesn't even benefit their country.

I look at it the same way as being a soldier in the Roman army. You know you're fighting for a small group of people for nothing but wealth but you do it because it gives you an avenue to the top. You have to let go of your moral inhibitions though and look at history to see that there is no "good" or "bad" reason for war. It's in our blood and we're going to find a way to wage it eventually.

so you're advocating for war crimes because you can become a made man?
