Is it true that the Turks are going to actually launch an offensive with the rebels against Afrin canton? It's been suspected for ages yet we finally see small signs it may happen.

nah it's gotta be like mash: syrian redux
maybe call it the flight boys - one episode about a pilot, now grounded because the airport runways are insecure, forced to take up infantry weapons to defend the base
the story of countryside, a conscript, who tells wild stories that affect the general moral, who is, at the end matyred, while fighting evil headchoppers, after realising the error of his ways. he 'self-sacrifices'
the overriding feelz pro-syrian, with more than a hint of sadness at the madness and some mournful mashlike tune
Alright lads, anybody has made a map of the place so far so we can identify it easier ?

FSA/Idlib GovernorateCamp Graduations
We were trying to find it yesterday. This camp has been used many times in the last few months. Videos have been uploaded for both the 11th and 9th sessions. The camp is described as being in the Idlib Governorate. This helps narrow the search considerably. I will post the video links, notable translations, and a few screenshots.

Training includes all combat supplies on the battlefield from near combat, mobility and first aid.
The source is bullshitting opposition activists. They said the Maj. General died in Sukhnah, whereas he actually died in Humaymah.

>Russian jets destroy several ISIL tanks, bases in east Homs: video BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:55 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force has played an imperative role in the Islamic State’s (ISIL) demise in Syria, killing scores of terrorists and destroying much of their hardware.
Recently, the Syrian Free News channel released footage of the Russian Air Force destroying ISIL bases and tanks in the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate. These airstrikes have propelled the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to recover several points around the strategic city of Al-Sukhnah, which was once an Islamic State stronghold.

also what is prevailing wind direction in idlib?
the flag and the smoke in second video are traveling from the top left of the map, 45% to the barracks. this might help orient the buildings on the map.
also check the smoke scene

what about checking recent weather reports to see if there is great variation? just pick a town in idlib and get wether report. also I notice the field is cleanly ploughed - i.e. where they do the training in black evening wear with the tank. their shadows run in more or less the same orientation. so what is the direction of the lines of ploughed lines in the field?

I would say, based on the setting sun, that the field is ploughed in an east west orientation.
and that means the line of trees in the background are also running eastwest.

>SDF controls 50% of Raqqa. Is Raqqa that big/dense of a city or does the SDF just suck?
Benjamin Phillips
Well, so without sources for now: Suknah was in fire control since 5/8, IS movement was observed in and out of the city, later 12 SAA died when trying to clear what they've left - it turned out to be IEDs. Today, 8/8, at least 2+ SVBIEDs hit SAA positions (most likely Shaitat) trying to secure the south-east buffer zone, inflicting casualties. That's basically the most important facts. Now SAA withdrawn from the city and is waiting for more air support to target IS movement (huge thingz are going on) and for another advance, this time with much more anti-IED squads. T2/T3/Hmaymah.. All we know is: SyMoD claims 22 casualties, Hezzies claim 10, one loyalist journalist claims 62, IS claims over 90 and 5 tanks and 2 BMP, attack came exactly like on PMU, from 3 axis, inflicted massive casualties, was repelled due to air sorties and MLRS shelling. If someone has more detailed questions I'm here for a few hours more probably.
Noah Martinez
Both.
Luis Collins
it doesn't matter since the fields have agriculture on them right now
Oh and just to add: IS movement was claimed both by Alamaq (reporting their own actions) and Hezzies (through drones), that a few small rides and one larger with SVBIEDs took place today and yesterday on Tigers' and tribals' positions in south Raqqa CS
