Don't get me wrong, the new testament and the philosophical foundations of Christianity are amazing, but as with Western civilization as a whole it's teachings are open to perversion because it's too open and kind to outsiders and naively assumes it's basic tenets are something everyone would agree with if they just properly understood it. It doesn't account for people subverting its most laudable aspects (love thy neighbor, turn the other cheek) into a weapon used to dismantle it.
