Intersting, while I can't link the study, they have investigated the brains of world class soccer players compared to the brain of average, every day soccer players to find out why some are much more talented and competent than others. The result was that world class players actually have less brain activity when performing their sport, meaning they have more brain capacity available once a really complicated situation arises. The average players brain is always at near maximum for just the average activity during a game, hence he will not be able to perform well in complicated situations.
And I think it makes perfectly sense, when you need 90% of your mental capacity just for everyday life then you certainly won't be able to handle complex shit.

You are argumenting under the complete false assumption that everyones brain capacity is the same... and you also imply that something we call "talent" is also the same for everyone, which is simply false of course.
What you describe is "skill", which can be improved more and more by practice. But a person with talent that works really hard will always be better than someone who works hard and has no talent. Similar thing with IQ and academics. Good luck going into physics with an IQ of 100 and trying to achieve the same as a person with IQ 140. So it basically sets the path for literally everything then, especially detemining how fast you progress to the next stage and ultimately sets in indicator on how far you can come... which is exactly what I said. A low IQ person can practice all he wants if the time needed to "perfect a move" is 100 times that of a gifted pro athlete. By the time he finishes his training he is most likely to old to even be on the same level he wanted to be in the first place.
