I like cursive, but it's becoming horribly outdated. Truthfully, we should have moved away from it after ballpoint pens and No. 2 pencils became the most common writing utensils in the country. With keyboards and Times New Roman pushing those out of the picture, we really don't have much need for it anymore.

When you take a child who has been forced to only write cursive for a decade, and then have them write in print, sure.
There is nothing inherently advantageous about cursive in the day and age of affordable ball point pens. We don't have to worry about minimizing hover over the paper with a quill lest the ink blotch more often.
When people write cursive that is neat, it is still a pain to read for people who have gotten used to reading print. This includes professionals.
You know how much of a paint it is for courts to deal with Holographic Wills because of the laws that require those to be handwritten. Thank god when the decedent wrote in print but in cursive they sometimes have to bring in an "expert" to testify and decipher it.
