Rednecks have been the safe target to make fun of for the media for years because they're white and "racist." I used to have a pretty elitist attitude myself towards rednecks, but I've found they're mostly honest, hardworking people who just have some hobbies I don't give a damn about.
As far as culture goes, good that they're proud of it. I'd rather my neighbor be proud of his roots than someone who's self-hating and negative all the time. The Union won but the Confederacy put up a damn good fight, and I don't see anything wrong with wanting to remember that. Willingness to rebel and skepticism of the government is about as American as it gets.

Statues have been there for 100 years or nearly 100 years without issue. One got torn down today because it showed a confederate soldier with the tag under "In remembrance of our boys in Gray." How is that a fucking inflammatory statue? It's a god damn memorial made for the Americans who died fighting for their side of the civil war. What does tearing it down accomplish? The confederates were Americans too and their dead soldiers deserve respect.
Besides, the only reason these statues are being torn down is so later the founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson can be brought down because they owned slaves and were "bad" like the confederates. Then every document or quote related to them can be disavowed, including the constitution and federalist papers. Then we will become a "democracy" banana republic capable of fitting right into the UN NWO global government plan.
