I don't care what this confederate person did with his life. Maybe he was educated, maybe he had a family, maybe he fought valiantly for a cause he believed in. History now says his beliefs, no matter how well founded at the time, were mistaken. Not all historical figures are celebrated in perpetuity. Behold, a new figure that we can celebrate. Her education may be weak, she may not want or have a family of her own, and she may not know what it is to fight without complaint. But she is comfortable in her body at any weight, she is capable of roundly criticizing traditional families, and she can blog like a banshee. One day, when we recognize the prosperity that she and those like her brought to this continent, we will erect a statue of her in the square. People of supposed purpose and intellect will attempt to tear it down, but shrill screams of disapproval will deafen them and strip them of their will.

Maybe they should tear down the Pyramids or other Egyptian monuments because Egyptians were huge slavers.
