There will never be electoral reform in this country.
Whoever gets in find themselves with a political apparatus that is successful under the current system. They then see it as a lesser risk to change that apparatus a little or not at all to win next time. it's tough to see what's happening in my city, things are getting worse. there is a large increase in people wandering the streets with clear drug / mental health problems. needles are being tossed in the street, people's yards and playgrounds. the local millennial soccer moms are rallying for these people and condemning anyone who speaks out against them, saying they just need more gibs and less criticism. large tent cities are sprouting up outside of town, so the old hiking trails and fishing spots are being fenced off to everyone. the solution proposed is more safe injection sites and more free housing for addicts. all while rent, food, electricity and other expenses are increasing rapidly for ordinary, everyday folks. how can anything get done if anyone who speaks out against this is labelled a nazi? you can't even say the word junkie anymore ffs
