The future is in distributed blockchain based social media where each of our computers carries a copy of the forum and no one person controls it. Right now one person controls this entire site and could shut down Sup Forums tomorrow if he wanted to. Also all your IP data could easily be saved and tracked so someone could just search your IP and come up with all the posts you made that said "nigger", put you on a racist-neighborhood watch list and destroy your life forever. Sounds good at first, but think about it. That will separate Sup Forums users into many different camps - none of which will ever be as big as Sup Forums. There might be a group on Voat, many groups on the many other *chins (including ones on I2P and ZeroNet) and hell, even on Stormfront.
However, it won't ever be as effective and as noisy. ∞ would be the biggest one - some of the undesirables may return back to /r/the_donald; that would be nice and might lead to a slightly better posting quality for the average 4/pol/ user (∞ users, on the other hand, will notice a severe quality drop)
The fragmentation following a potential Sup Forums | Sup Forums shutdown will ruin everything unless a plan B is in order.

There was a 0chan on ZeroNet, but it doesn't have a Sup Forums. They have quite a long posting time as well - but I reckon that would be reduced as more and more people join in. Or perhaps somebody could create a new one - the good thing is that it's decentralized and it can't be shut down. You know how torrents work, right? Even if the original uploader no longer seeds the file, if any other person has a copy of it and they're seeding it you can download it. With more than. It's impossible to take down if you have thousands of users all around the world.
The only problem I'm worried about is moderation; I don't know how it would work on any of decentralized services - not just I2P and Zeronet, but RetroShare, Freenet and many others.
