The Republicans leave investment to the private sector unless directly essential to the United States; they choose to lower taxes, lower government spending and focus on paying the debt of the Democrats thus slowing growth but lowering inflation and the national debt and the deficit.
Economic growth isn't a sign of economic success; you can grow but be in major debt and have terrible quality of life.
