The reason why leftists make good music is because in order to tap into the artistic creative side of your brain, you need to have a massive disconnect from reality. That's why artists tend to be more liberal, while more conservative people tend to take more "practical" jobs.

Learning the political views of musicians is a treacherous thing, but sometimes it can be OK. Some examples which come to mind for various reasons: Neil Peart, Kerry King endorsing Hillary Clinton, that guy from Vio-Lence pearl-clutching hard out over Phil Anselmo shouting "White Power" at a show, but the one which actually kinda hurt muh feelings in the moment was Roger Waters throwing Trump under the bus. The problem isn't that musicians aren't leftists, that much can be assumed, but rather that everyone is so hostile about politics these days.
