It would be an illness if there was an objective designated baseline for those chemicals that are "imbalanced". When I'm questioning it being an illness is not that I think their behaviour is normal, what I'm trying to convey is that their professional definition of the illness is purely arbitrary and non-scientific. They are defining the "illness" by means of observed behaviour, not biological markers. Psychiatrists pretend to have a "scientific"-lik authority backing their claims but they have not.
Psychology, even when not scientific, at least does not claim to be so. It is more akin to a trade, where professionals are judged based on their success fixing patients, whereas psychiatry claims to be scientific and uses such authority to impose solutions that at best don't work, at worst ruin lives and even kill people.

Psychiatry is the equivalent to this before the war on drugs and on CP. Politicians, be local or higher, could get rid of people they didn't like by having the local police intern them in a psychiatric, where they would be drugged and tortured in Guantanamo-tier levels.

I received electroshock therapy 4x in the early 80's.
That was BEFORE I kept getting into fights with a gang of boat people called the Young Dragons.
I didn't even really know that I was white before then, I didn't know what white or non-white was. I didn't know that I was white, I didn't know that other people were not white.
I did 3 years (max under the Young Offenders Act) for manslaughter (and my predisposition report did mention racial violence), and was labelled a Greatest Severity Offender, and waged a successful race war from my cell in the Black Rock unit of the Calgary Young Offenders Center where I convinced a fas chug to hang itself by counseling it through the vents every night.
If the timing is at all relevant, then electroshock did nothing but start the fire.
Before electroshock I was a skinny kid who was the focal point of a psychiatric witchunt when I found the body of my cousin and did not react how they thought I should have reacted.
After electroshock, nobody has ever taken one drop of my blood for free. Not from doctors, not from cops, not from organized criminals who came to turn my country into the shithole they came from.
