Information about joint operation of RF, Iran and Turkey (Astana guarantors) assaulting Nusra in Idleb together has popped up Russians from Latakia, Iran from Aleppo and Turks from their border. Supposedly.
Terrorists violated the ceasefire in eastern Ghouta, targeting residental districts: >sana.sy/ru/?p=117518
The supposed attack in Latakia (claimed by Nusra) was an accident, a civilian had a granade with him (supposedly people carry them around for self defence, sic!) and it exploded killing 2 others: >ria.ru/syria/20170819/1500688374.html

having done about 20 minutes of research on google I get the impression that the russians have not drafted any resolutions for the security council to make their case on Syria, they've only reacted when the west has drafted theirs. Why not just make the west say "no, we don't want you to fight Al-Qaeda" to make the point? i there a logic here that I'm missing?

Extended Venezuela update, by confederate user. >Constituent assembly takes all powers from Congress (interpreted to refer to National Assembly). Not quite. They will only veto any legislation they don't like -- effectively the same thing, but the National Assembly is still operational, despite the fact new legislation is now being passed by the Constituent Assembly.
You should probably include CA legislative acts from here.
venezuelanalysis.com/news/13319 ANC (Spanish backwards adjective ordering for National Constituent Assembly) passes new legislation outlawing hate crime -- including crimes based on race, religion, LGBTshit, and political affiliation.
Race and religion will probably benefit Maduro's GPP due to the mestizo and Protestant bases of the coalition as a whole, while LGBTshit is obviously a token measure to appease MUD. Political affiliation will likely be used as a pretense to crack down on anti-GPP violence.
venezuelanalysis.com/news/13317 ANC orders end to Maduro-controlled executive branch's use of military tribunals against insurgents.

I had, probably in my head and by my own bias, come to the belief that the west had blocked Russian support to Assad in the security council, but I found no proof of that. In fact, I found no proof of Russia initiating anything in the security council at all.
The thing I've been after is I get the impression that Russias hands were tied until 2013-14. but you tie other big players' hands in the security council, afaik, and that hasn't happened
Tyler Cooper
Pray for me, /sg/, my pc has crashed innumerable times and I'm on the line with the 2nd customer support agent and a fresh install of windows
yea it's... like the US suggested a draft making it impossible to import weapons into Syria in 2012, while they were they hard at work doing exactly that. I guess the game is mostly played around it. Still have a lot of research to do I guess, trying to understand why Russia let the war almost look losable for a while, why they havent gone in harder earlier. Maybe it's the propaganda situation where doing so would have given the world even more excuses for sanctions due to the whole "moderate rebellion" thing.

Some new gains, this time it was made by the ISIS hunters >I thought they were primarily a guerilla force??? Anyway, back to my story, The Syrians are saying that they estimate that it will take 2-3 months to clear the pocket completely. That seems conservative to me.

This, Penguinistan is truly one of the best of us.
This gif is exploitable, Assad and Putin could be in the car, the 3 walkers could be FSA / Nusra / ISIS, the cops America and Israel etc.
Shame I don't know how to do anything.

looks like the old lighthouse joke abut the us navy is true. i guess they wanted the tanker to put in full reverse so they could pass...
i really can't understand how something like this can happen... completly avoidable if they follow procedures.

It does make sense, either this and tasty contracts, or just plain stupidity and incompetence. Don't know what is worse, after all taxpayers fund these cretins.

Depends on the country
Sure lad, if I'm still around by than I'll do it! Doubt it honestly. Earlier I didn't thought about this, but your thesis they did it on purpose just to sign a new contract as a consequence of shipyard over-investement or military industry crying for no contracts really makes sense.

Anyone is even surprised at this point? Really...

The crew of a ship can literally see another ship that is just over the horizon line, that's how far they can fucking see
